I started with a look a like "Fin" and now use ego batteries with clearomizers. I have found that instead of dropping the cigarette habit I have gained the vaping hobby. My question is, with so many choices, are all ego batteries equal given they offer the same recharge life, same voltage, button quality? For example is an $8 650 mah as good as a $13.95 650 mah etc. up to a Joye that costs $16.95? What makes one better, besides the variable added functions like "twist", led and so on. Is there really a battery that's much better than the others?

Hi

Real proverbial can of worms with this topic. I have real Joyetech batteries that are over two years old and still charge and have good run time. (Admittedly they don't get much use now. But they were my all day device for my first six months.) I also bought a Riva Ego type kit - one battery crapped in a week. Other people who got those as presents had DOA batteries and the batteries that did work only lasted about three months.

Best I can tell you is read the reviews on the site. If I were me I would buy Joyetech again. You can only push the "where can I get the lowest price on a..." thing so far.

I use joyetech eGo-c almost exclusively. But I've had other brands and knockoffs in the past. I have a Spinner and some eGo-RS's that have the replaceable 14500 batts. Joyetechs the best short and charge protection available for ego style batts. They have a longer than most cutoff - 13-15 seconds vs. as short as 6-7 seconds on some Visions and knockoffs. In general I've found that Joye eGos have better threading, durability and if you have a 'bad connection' it is almost always the clearo or carto that needs the center pin to be raised rather than the Joye eGo. Not so on some other models. Over the 3 plus years I've used Joyes, I've had 2 (not eGo-c's) die of shorts and the rest from old age - anywhere from 7-8 months to over 2 years depending on how much they are used...ymmv. I don't power vape any of them splitting up vape time with different eGo's tied to different flavors I like, with a 'backup batt' for each.

I also like the white to light blue to dark blue to indicate how much charge is left and with the eGo-c 'upgrade' battery, I like the choice of the regulated or unregulated modes for times when I need just a bit more heat for some flavors.

1 - there are good quality not-Joyetech batteries around.
2 - there are crap batteries around, too
I have a couple of each!

The charger is NOT brand specific - but you can't use the Ego charger on a 510 "stick" battery. Vice-versa would work, but VEERRRRY slowly. But an Ego charger should be OK for any Ego...

The reason I asked was I believe the output on the Joye charger to the battery is 500 mAh while mine is 420 mAh. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Is it true that you need the Joye wall charger and Joye USB plug to charge the Joye eGo C twist battery? Looking at them online sure looks exactly what I use to charge my eGo 1300 battery.

It has to be made for eGo style batteries and the ratings plate on the charger dongle needs to say:

DC Input 5 volts 500 mA
DC output 4.2 volts 420 mA

If that's what you have you will be fine.

Nope. The input on a JoyeTech charger dongle is 500 mA at 5 volts, and that's a minimum in mA's for it to work properly.

The output of a JoyeTech eGo charger is 4.2 volts, 420 mAh

Thank you as my charger says that exactly. You saved me money.
