Nope. It's a Korean movie that achieved a fair amount of success on DVD in the U.S. Also, according to the IMDB, an American remake is currently in the works.

missed this, arg. Knew them all but 5 & 7. Oldboy is a great film, as is the rest of the vengeance trilogy. South Korea is currently home to a few of the most exciting filmmakers alive. Check out "Mother" if you get a chance.
I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that Oldboy is being remade. I was more surprised that "A Tale of Two Sisters" got remade (though it is a good film).
