Gonna try going with another themed quiz: Musicians in Movies. All of this week's movies feature musicians acting in key roles or as lead characters.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure this is the easiest quiz I've made yet. There are only a couple of movies included that weren't hugely popular when they came out, and the screenshots are as unambiguous as can be.

Anyway, as usual, there are eight screenshots below, most of which should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the movies. The question is: which of the movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles.

Happy Friday, and good luck! :)

As usual, I'll post the answers Sunday morning-ish.

#3 is one of my ALL TIME fav movies. Also read the book too, tho it's different, I liked it as well :)
Actually, this may be the only movie where I think the movie is better than the book......though I DID like the book...

Did not care for #4 ugh

Pretty sure I know #5

Not really sure about the rest...

    in a cave, eh?
Hints. A couple of the movies might be a little more familiar if you recognized the musicians featured in them. They're all seen here in the screencaps. Select the text if you need the help. I can follow up with more specific hints tomorrow.

    1. Sting
    2. Frank Sinatra
    3. David Bowie
    4. Tina Turner
    5. Billy Idol
    6. Sir Bob Geldof
    7. Iggy Pop
    8. Keith Richards

    Bonus hint:

#1. There is a movie related to this one that also features Tina Turner (seen in #4). It was covered in a previous quiz. Also, another singer, Toyah Willcox, has a role in this film.

    Hints:

    1. It's mods vs. rockers accompanied by a double album soundtrack by a classic rock band.
    2. A sleeper assassin is triggered by the Queen of Diamonds.
    3. Former partners become bitter rivals as competing magicians with Nikola Tesla thrown in the plot.
    4. This one's gotta be pretty obvious, so I'm just going to share the music video:
    5. Robbie: [Linda shows up for the first time after failing to marry him] You're late.
Linda: [sighs] I'm sorry... I just couldn't do it.
Robbie: Well, if you need more time, I guess I could wait.
Linda: No... I don't need more time, Robbie. I don't ever want to marry you.
Robbie: [takes a deep breath, sighs] Gee, you know that information... really would've been more useful to me *yesterday.*
Linda: I've been talking with my friends the last few days...
Robbie: Oh, boy, here it comes.
Linda: ...and I think I've figured out what's been bothering me. I'm not in love with Robbie, now. I'm in love with Robbie, six years ago. Robbie, the lead singer of Final Warning; I used to come watch you when you were in your silk shirt and Spandex pants, and you would sing into the microphone like you were David Lee Roth.
Robbie: I've still got the Spandex; I'll put 'em on right now.
Linda: The point is, I woke up this morning and realized I'm about to get married to a wedding singer? I am never gonna leave Richfield!
Robbie: Why do you need to leave Richfield? We grew up here. All our friends are here; it's the perfect place to raise a family.
Linda: Oh, yeah - sure! Living in your sister's basement with five kids while you're off every weekends doing wedding gigs at a whoppin' sixty bucks a pop?
Robbie: Once again, things that could've been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!
    6. ♫ We don’t need no education. We don’t need no thought control. ♫
    7. Johnny Depp is an accountant who's been shot, the bullet is too close to his heart to remove, and Iggy Pop is Salvatore "Sally" Jenko, a cross-dressing, Bible-reading fur trader.
    8. Well, the star had been channeling Keith Richards for the first two movies, so the producers signed up the actual Keith Richards for the third.
