Just like *that*, Friday rolls back around and it's quiz time again! :)

I'd say movie #6 is the toughest one this week. Maybe if you were a regular viewer of the Night Flight show on the USA cable network in the early `80s, you may recall seeing this movie. It's not a cable-only movie though; it's a for-real, released-to-theaters film, and it was featured at a lot of art-house film festivals and at midnight-showings.

Beyond that, there's just this: As usual, there are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the movies. The question is: which of the movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles. .

Hinting and bumping.....

#2: Robert Mitchum starred in the original, 1962 version of this thriller, and has a cameo in this Martin Scorsese remake.

#3 is a star-studded disaster-at-sea movie from 1972. ♫There's got to be a morning after...

#5: That's Francis in the screenshot, and he's saying, "...If I catch any of you guys touching my stuff, I'll kill you. Also, I don't like nobody touching me. Any of you homos touch me, and I'll kill you."

Hope these help! :)

    in a cave, eh?
More hints if you need 'em:

    1. That's a Trojan Rabbit being wheeled up to the castle.
    2. This story was parodied on the Simpsons when Sideshow Bob is released on parole. The Simpsons join the Witness Relocation Program to protect Bart from his arch-enemy. Unfortunately, Sideshow Bob has strapped himself to the underside of their car when they move to their new location: a houseboat on Terror Lake. Night on the houseboat is incredibly tense when Sideshow Bob makes his move.
    3. One in a series of popular 70's disaster films, the other ones being Airport, The Towering Inferno and Earthquake.
    4. The earth, suffering from massive overpopulation, launches the Elysium on a 123-year voyage to an Earth-like planet called Tanis to create a settlement. A psychological condition caused by flying through deep space makes people revert to savages and an enzyme supplement intended to speed up their evolution actually causes them to devolve.
    5. The film was originally conceived by Ivan Reitman as "Cheech and Chong join the army", but Cheech and Chong were replaced by Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. John Candy got a mud wrestling scene. After somehow graduating boot camp, the troops wind up in Italy guarding a top-secret, super-weaponized large RV.
    6. Tiny aliens are secretly doing in "hair-oh-win"-addicted New Wavers to harvest the endorphins released.
    7. A David Lynch film about a hideously deformed individual rescued from a Victorian-era sideshow by a compassionate doctor.
    8. An aspiring writer and his photographer girlfriend are traveling cross-country to research serial killers. Ironically, to help pay for gas, they unwittingly take a killer and his girlfriend on their trip.
