It's quiz time, folks!

There's no theme for this week's quiz. It's just a random-ish selection of images from several movies that I've enjoyed. :)

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles..

Good luck, and happy Friday!

As usual, I'll post the answers Sunday morning-ish.

Bumping the thread and dropping a few hints...

#2: This Swedish movie is part one of a trilogy, and all three titles start with the same three words. The American remake of the movie was released last year, and the remaining two installments are currently in production. The title of this first film tells us that the character pictured has been inked.

#4: This is Martin Scorsese's first foray into the realm of 3D movie making, and also his first kid-oriented, feature-length movie.

#7: I think evilfrog's clue (above) is worth repeating: "...7 should be easy -- where else are there green women??"

#8: Maybe it would have helped if Edwina (Lilly Tomlin) was in the screenshot? In any case, here's the dialog that goes with this scene:

Roger (on the left): Can you put Edwina back in the bowl?
Prahka Lasa (on the right): Backinbowl?
Roger: Yes, backinbowl.
Prahka Lasa: Yes, backinbowl. No.

Hope these help! :)

    in a cave, eh?
More hints if you need 'em:

    1. Bette Davis is a hoot in this movie playing an aging and embittered former child star who has to care for her more successful sister, Joan Crawford, who blames her for putting her in a wheelchair.
    2. A young woman who was abused as a child and suffered more abuse in the institution she was sent to and still more at the hands of her legal guardian is now a punk computer hacker with a big ornate tattoo on her back. She's helping a disgraced journalist for a Swedish investigative journalism magazine investigate the disappearance of a young woman who went missing 40 years ago for her (the missing woman's) rich relative.
    3. Well, it should be obvious from the screencap that this movie combines live-action with animation. Kathleen Turner delivers the classic line, "I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way."
    4. A 12-year-old boy is orphaned, living in a Paris railway station in 1931 and attempting to complete the work on an automaton his father had been attempting to restore. His father told him once that the Georges Méliès film "Voyage to the Moon" (rendered by the automaton in the screencap) was his favourite film.
    5. You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talking... you talking to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who the .... do you think you're talking to? Oh yeah? OK.
    6. Birdie, birdie in the sky,
dropped a message from the sky.
      I don't care and I won't cry,
I'm just glad that cows don't fly.

      - as told by Alfred Hitchcock
    7. In the original tv pilot called "The Cage", the exploring captain is trapped and held hostage to mate with another, earlier (and prettier) female captive for the purposes of breeding slaves to repopulate the land. His captors try to keep him happy by telepathically feeding him images of a happy, carefree life. In one scene, the girl is transformed into an alluring, dancing green Orion slave girl. In this more recent movie series reboot, the context of the scene is completely different, but the influence of the original tv series is pretty obvious.
    8. A rich, difficult and dying woman attempts to cheat death by transferring her soul (via an Indian mystic) and all of her wealth (via legal will) to a willing young woman. Unfortunately, only her wealth ends up with the young woman (who turns out to have an ugly criminal past) and the soul ends up sharing space in Steve Martin's body.
