Another themed quiz for you this week: Movies That Prominently Feature Drugs. In each of these films, illicit drugs are integral to the plot. In some of them, drug use is pervasive.

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

More hints if you need 'em. The ECF censor gave me extra trouble this week, but here goes:

1. The director had this to say about the movie. The movie is not about [smack] or about drugs… The Harry-Tyrone-Marion story is a very traditional [smack] story. But putting it side by side with the Sara story, we suddenly say, 'Oh, my God, what is a drug?' The idea that the same inner monologue goes through a person's head when they're trying to quit drugs, as with cigarettes, as when they're trying to not eat food so they can lose 20 pounds, was really fascinating to me. I thought it was an idea that we hadn't seen on film and I wanted to bring it up on the screen.
2. At the end of the movie, the main character killed the head guard, Hamidou, by pushing him into a clothes rack and impaling him. In real life, it was another prisoner, recently paroled, that spotted Hamidou the guard drinking tea at a café outside and shot him eight times, killing him.
3. The title is a triple-entendre: a reference to the mother of god, another reference to a slang name for "smack"; and it also be the name of the baby. And it recalls the name of a rosary prayer.
4. Biopic of a "musician" who could barely play his instrument and famously wrecked the Frank Sinatra song "My Way". He had a girlfriend that was big trouble.
5. Pedro: Man, what is in this [crap], man?
   Man Stoner: Mostly Maui Waui man, but it's got some Labrador in it.
   Pedro: What's Labrador?
   Man Stoner: It's dog [crap].
   Pedro: What?
   Man Stoner: Yeah, my dog ate my stash, man.
   Pedro: Yeah?
   Man Stoner: I had it on the table and the little mother------ ate it, man. Then I had to follow him around with a little baggie for three days, man, before I got it back. Really blew the dog's mind, ya know?
   Pedro: You mean we're smokin' dog [crap], man?
   Man Stoner: Gets ya high, don't it?
   [Song, "Rockin' Robin" plays... ]
   Man Stoner: I think it's even better than before, you know?
   Pedro: Uhhh, I wonder what Great Dane tastes like, man.
6. Say hello to my little friend!
7. Leave it to the Catholic Church. Girls get raped every day, and now we're putting up 50 Gs just 'cause these girls wear f-----' penguin suits.
8. There's a strong connection with this film and more recent "The Rum Diary".

That, plus I try not to use movies that have already appeared in previous Movie Quizzes. It's definitely been a while, but I did use Pulp Fiction several months back.
