I've got a themed quiz for you this week: Movies Featuring Great and/or Classic Chase Scenes. Some of the films are about the chase, while others merely feature a memorable one.

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles..

AMEN to that CCat!! I love that one!

I actually know most of these - which is surprising to me, because I don't usually like car chasey type movies - but apparently I pay attention to them more than I thought I did! :)
Thanks Caff!

Bumping and hinting...

#1: This is the first feature-length movie directed by Steven Spielberg. It was made-for-TV, and never had a theatrical release in the U.S.

#2: Released at the height of the CB Radio boom in America, the movie's main characters are frequently identified by their CB handles: Snowman, Frog, and the two titular characters in the screenshot.

#3: The character pictured is nicknamed Popeye, but he isn't a sailor man. For this film, "Le Popeye" might be more apropros.

#4: That's Kristy Swanson, (the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer), in the passenger seat. She's been taken hostage by the escaped convict who's driving the car. The movie's title is perfectly fitting for this week's quiz theme.

Hope these help! :)

More hints if you need 'em:

    1. The original Richard Matheson short story was inspired by an incident where he was tailgated by a trucker on his way home from a golfing match.
    2. Big Enos hires Bo Darville to haul Coors beer from Texarkana, Texas to Georgia in 28 hours to sell there without getting thwarted by the police. Bo's friend drives the beer truck, with his basset hound Fred, while Bo runs up ahead in a black Trans-Am to run interference. Buford T. Justice is the Texas sheriff determined to stop Bo all through Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
    3. The film revolves around the smuggling of narcotics between Marseilles, France and New York City, USA. There's a big chase at the end where detective "Popeye" commandeers a civilian car and uses it to chase a hitman riding on an elevated train.
    4. In this comedy, Charlie Sheen is sentenced to 25 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. He manages to escape and takes Kristy Swanson as a hostage using her car get to Mexico with the police in pursuit.
    5. Harrison Ford vs. nazis searching for a biblical treasure that Hitler believes will make his army invincible.
    6. Film #2 in a trilogy about human beings used as batteries powering the civilization of their robot overlords where humans experience life as a simulated reality.
    7. A psychopathic stunt man stalks young women before murdering them in staged car accidents using his stunt car in Tarantino's hommage to grindhouse movies.
    8. A Mel Brooks parody with the 4 main stories set during the Dawn of Man, the Roman Empire, the Spanish Inquisition and the French Revolution.
