Hello again, everybody!

I figure it's time I gave this whole Movie Quiz thing another shot. It's been over six months since the last one, and I've kinda been itchin' to post a Movie Quiz thread for a few weeks... So, here it is. :D

The quiz will run for a week or so, and I'll bump it with hints and whatnot as needed. I expect I'll be putting up the answer key sometime next weekend.

In the meantime, good luck, and I hope you enjoy the quiz! :)

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles..

Time for a thread bump and a few hints, perhaps?

#1: This landmark comedy from 1988 was widely acclaimed for it's seamless integration of animation and live action. The sultry voice for the hourglass-figured shadow in the screenshot was provided by Kathleen Turner.

#2: This British horror-comedy bucked the modern trend, and instead featured traditional, slow, shambling zombies. Additionally, the movie's title pays homage to the godfather of zombie movies, George Romero, by playing off the title of one of Romero's biggest films.

#3: This is a remake of a 1971 Gene Wilder classic. It features Johnny Depp in a top hat and purple coat, and supposedly adheres more closely to the original Ronald Dahl children's novel, (though I've never read it, myself).

#4: Peter Gibbons: …here's another thing, I have eight different bosses right now.

Bob Porter: Eight!?

Peter Gibbons: Eight, Bob. So that means when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled, that, and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

Hope these help! :)

I also know #1 because I cheated (google). So, is the movie worth watching?
I'd say it is, yeah. If you can keep your expectations in check, I think you'll probably enjoy it. Which is to say that while you're not likely to count it among the best movies you've ever seen, it's definitely a fun ride, and good for some laughs.

Ah, okay. Got that #3 that had eluded me. No way am I gonna drive myself batty seeing the remake of such a classic. If I were to, I know I'd just be insufferable with my whining...so I'm sparing others, really. caff, it's not too late to read the book! You're right that it is quite different from Wilder's wacky ride of a movie, but they're both sublime in their own way:closedeyes:.
