So, it's been about three weeks since the last Movie Quiz... Are you ready for a new one?

Yeah, well, I'm not even going to wait for your answer! I'm going to post a new quiz whether you're ready or not! Just try and stop me!
 :D

Ready, steady, Quiz!

*****

The thread will run its course for a week or so, and I'll bump it with hints and whatnot as needed. Answers will be posted when the time feels right.

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles..

Clues and hints, you say? Sure thing, says I...

#1: When things go very wrong during a spacewalk, it's serious. Critical, even. Some might even call the situation "weighty," or "grave." :D Also, the astronaut on the right is the same actor as the guy seen second from the top in the screenshot for movie #2.

#2: Joel Coen, (of Coen Brothers fame), has been quoted as stating that this film is "very loosely and very sort of unseriously based" on Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey. It also features the Soggy Bottom Boys performing "Man of Constant Sorrow."

#3: "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

#4: In addition to the four mostly-recognizable actors sitting at the table in the screenshot, this 2011 comedy notably features Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Donald Sutherland, and, as bob already alluded to (see above), Jennifer Aniston.

Helpful, hopefully these were.

I figured out 3 and 4! I've not watched them though. Are they worth watching?

I can't comment on #4 (no idea what it is).

#3 was in the top half of AFI's Top 100 movies. It has an 8.6 user rating on IMDB.com. The Tomatometer (RottenTomatoes.com) is 100% and audience rating is 94%.

It isn't exactly my cup of tea (I'm one of the six people in the world who don't like the lead actor), but it's definitely a movie everyone should watch at least once.

Sorry I'm so late with the second round of hints, but I'd completely forgotten that I hadn't done it yet!

So, without further ado, here are some more hints!

#5: Christian Bale is a warrior-priest and enforcement officer in a future dystopia where both feelings and artistic expression are outlawed and citizens take daily injections of drugs to suppress their emotions. (Does that sound a little familiar, bob? :D )

#6: This was Eddie Murphy's first movie. That's him as convicted felon Reggie Hammond seated on the right in the screenshot, in a scene where he's singing The Police's Roxanne quite loudly, with headphones on. Nick Nolte is the detective standing over him.

#7: John Goodman does the voice acting for the the Sully character in this 2001 Pixar film, while Billy Crystal does the voice of Mike.

#8: Michael Douglas starts out the movie stuck in an L.A. traffic jam. Suddenly he rage-quits, abandons his car, and begins his long walk home. As he makes his way across the city, we watch him descend into psychosis and become increasingly violent with the people and situations he encounters.
