Just by happenstance-We watched The Notebook tonight.
Just heartbreaking and reality at its finest! Would you? Could you?

I am not someone who gets in the car and goes to the theater. We were bored and turned on the tv and this movie was just starting. My daughter has told me before what a great flick this is and I should watch it, well we watched!
I am amazed at the content and reality that this movie holds. My question is....Could you, would you? The love that he has for his partner to stay and be with her for the few minutes a year that she remembers-OMG. I can and would and will, if need be. The love I have for my soul mate is worth every minute of every day that I am able to take a breath and experience the here and now.
I love you baby and without you I am nonexistent. Each and every morning that I open my eyes and take a breath, it is for us. I love us, not me, not you but, US.

Yeah and then on the flip side I watched "Year One" this afternoon....Tears....of disbelief... How do we live in a world in which you can have so much comedic talent in a movie that reeks of moldy analogs?
I grew up loving movies, started working in movie theaters @ 16 and so on. I will never forget the first movie that made me cry was.....BEACHES. I can barely think of FINDING NEVERLAND without my lip starting to quiver.. I still cannot believe that Johnny Depp of today also did such gems as NICK OF TIME, THE ASTRONAUTS WIFE, and CRY BABY.
Did any of you see MEET JOE BLACK? Anthony Hopkins line "65 years....don't they go by in a blink?" sticks with me everyday.
Sorry just some cold medicine induce ramblings here.

Some decent movies mentioned. One of my favorite "romantic" movies ever made though will forever be City Of Angels (the one with Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage) because I absolutely love the reality in the way it ends ;)

Also I think every young couple looking to get married (fools :D ) should have to watch The Story of Us as part of the required process to obtain a marriage license ;)

Love the Notebook! On my list of all time favorites! Which is strange, I cant stand love stories, I am more of a Horror flick, drama, action movie.

I did how ever buy the book (the Notebook) and gave it to my oldest son to read, it was a requirement that he read it before I gave him my mothers wedding ring to propose to his girlfriend.
He read it and said he loved it!!!! And it gave him a lot to think about.

I love tear jerkers too! Especially the Notebook, it was so powerful and moving. It reminds me alot of 50 first dates. Just so sad and depressing but is Definitely do-able. I'm a real sob for movies (Not s.o.b, lol) Kinda a sad to say but almost every movie out there that has to do with love makes me tear. Do I get riduculed? Sure everytime! Even a cartoon "Futurama" makes me tear all up during certain episodes! "Running to hide now!"
Tina your words are spoken so true beautifully.

all i saw of that movie.. is the very beginning where it pans across the lake and shows the tittle.. i downloaded it around 8 times each time it was suppose to be a different movie and I was always disappointed when I saw the tittle..

another mistake in downloading movies.. was happy feet.. was a good thing i check movies before giving them to the kids..

LOL Since Minova is no more, check out Bitsoup.com, the membership is free, but the catch is, you have to seed back the amount you take. It's the perfect concept of giving back to the community. The speed rates are through the roof and User comments are Always displayed. Thepiratebay is also another good one. Always read the comments before downloading! LOL
wanna see a real movie? no fancy explosions or car chases, but also no gratuitous love story? just real life unfolding, check out 'ordinary people'.
if you feel kinda low afterwards, then immediately after i suggest 'ruthless people'.
I seen those 2! and would Def recommend to watch them both in that order!! lol Sweet November was real good feeler and 7lbs was a heart breaker.

Law Abiding Citizen is fair. I'm not really a fan of Jamie Foxx.........but I do like Gerard Butler, and he really maked that movie good. Really decent, but totally unreal situations..........but overall.....I say fair.

I guess the 3 newer/newish movies I could watch over-n-over ( and I have) would be........

1- Role Models
2- The Rocker
3- Zombieland

by far, these are not masterpieces.........but they all have stuff in them that make me laugh really hard.

I'm a BIG TIME movie watcher........having over 920 movies in my library, so it's hard to really narrow down which ones are my absolute favs.
