Moving to Korea

Moving to Korea to gain more qualifications in my trade.

Going to have to leave all my precious ecig gear at home in Sydney, Australia

Makes me sad, in saying that, whats the regulations with ecigs over there? I have no idea if its legal etc, hope I dont havr go back on the analogues



Insight on this situation would be very helpful


P.S I have over a years worth of ecig stock here at home, and wont be able to take any of it with me if there is a chance of it getting taken away from me at the airport!

I don't know anything about the australia side of things- if nicotine is restricted there, as I believe it is, you'll be better off not carrying too much when you fly.

But don't oversweat it regarding the Korean side of thing. Ecigs are catching on fast here, and no problems I know of regarding restrictions. Prices, both for local purchase and for import, are pretty high. But no problems about vaping- vape'em if you got'em.

How long will you be staying? What are you going to be doing?

There are ways to get stuff here- juice is expensive, but available. If I were you, though, I'd bring actual hardware with me. It's way expensive here. What do you use?

I will be learning and gaining more skill over in Korea. I will be stay from 6 months - 1 year.

Yea im thinking of bringing my GGTS and have it dissembled. I also have a provari, but I think its abit precious to bring with me, and it is filled with electronics/chips inside while the GGTS is all metal tubing.

Not sure if I should just smoke analogues for a brief time whilst in Korea, I have yet to even have a single analogue since quitting.

Just a tip, Copper Creek (Welcome to Copper Creek - Online Store) ships to Korea and does NOT inflate shipping. Awesome juice. Seriously! I am addicted to the House Blend, Twisted Tobacco, Danish and a few others. Don't smoke the analogs, you can make this work! Good luck with your move!

As far as I know, nobody really "inflates" shipping- it's just sort of expensive to ship overseas. A lot of (most) US and European vendors will ship to Korea.

Import taxes can be an expense, but it's still more fun than smoking, and can be cheaper if you're a little careful about your spending.

But MK- Do NOT go back to analogues. Seriously- you'll find Korea to be a pretty vape-friendly place, even though it isn't too cheap. Lots of folks vape here. And if you already have a GGTS, heck- those last forever.

Even at local prices, vaping here is probably cheaper than smoking in Australia.

Thanks for the wise words Ande, you may have convinced me to keep on with my vaping steak and not break back into my old habbit, thanks!

If you'll be in Seoul let us know, Ande and I can point you to a few places to buy stuff locally. Of course, if you're in a bind, we can hook you up with some stuff to hold you over, I have enough DIY stuff to last me a few lifetimes.

As far as the legal side, they are completely legal in Korea. They are treated as "mild cigarettes" and therefore taxed to hell (plus some good old greed on top) but no legal issues to worry about.

On top, on the bottom, and in the middle. If I could find a local shop without the "greed tax" on it, I'd buy all my stuff locally. Probably won't happen, but...here's hoping.

Back to the OP- you won't find it hard to vape here, and it's legal. Unlike a lot of countries, I vape inside of all my fave bars and restaurants. (come to think of it, you can still smoke in lots of them.)

PS- Valsacar; what concentration do you get your nic base in? Thinking that DIY may have to be my next experiment...
