Damn bro! That doesn't sound like much fun at all. I didn't know there was any kind of surgery they could do for hearing loss. Mine has been going down hill for some time now and I have Tinnitus in my left ear.
It's kinda nice when the wife is yelling at me (which is most of the time) But it really sucks in the woods hunting. I can set in a tree and watch squirrels rustling around in the leaves right below me and I can't hear them any more. I've had several deer walk up 15 yards behind me and never knew they were there until I caught movement with my eyes.

Sucks to get old. Shut up Eln.

I feel ya.Had way too many booms and bangs going off and lost most of my hearing.Ringing ears is the norm for me.I was answering the door all the time till I figured out a new door chime,I got a barking dog.The VA won't fix it..So everyone calls me "huh" just to hear me say whut?
