didn't get to relax as much as I wanted
Decided to fix a leaky valve in the toilet. figured it was mineral build up and that cleaning all the part would do the trick. An hour later it had been taken apart, cleaned and put back together. It leaked worse than before. A couple of internal gaskets had basically dissolved - original parts when the house was built 20 years ago. Went to store and bought some parts. got home and found they wouldn't work with the old parts. Went to 2nd store and got a new valve assembly. Got back and put it in - all good. Took almost 4 hours til I finished - still have to return parts to 1st store tomorrow.

I should've just spent the extra money to start with - at least would have saved a lot of time.

We've done the same. Hard to know what you actually need sometimes.

I've had it go both ways - keep going to get more parts or get all the stuff ahead of time and then not need it.
This one bothers me cause I've been doing plumbing since I was in high school and figured it would be a quick fix. Then I should have known better about trying to match up parts - the Japanese seem to make a bunch of small changes to things every few years and stop selling the older parts - had it happen with a couple other things.

The WALKING DEAD returns NEXT SUNDAY (Feb 8th) @ 9pm on AMC, with their second half of Season 5 episodes. AMC will also be showing the complete series (starting from the beginning), starting today (2/1) @ 10am, and going on throughout tomorrow (2/2). They will continue to run the episodes/seasons in order on Friday (2/6), and running all the way up to the mid-season premier, next Sunday.

It's 21 degrees here this morning. At least the wind is gone, that was pretty brutal yesterday.

We have sun and 11 degrees. Snow coming in sometime tonight.

I know it's winter but the snow is getting old to me now...time to head down south!

Anyone excited for the super bowl today? I know I'm excited for the PARTY I'm going to. Not much into football. My daughter is a Patriot's fan so I don't want to be with her when the games on just in case!

Hard to believe that it started off here @ 12*F this morning..........It's now 41*F .........AND SNOW TONIGHT into TOMORROW night .
