Ya know,
I have been vaping for going on a year. Happily, avidly and intensely. I've gone back and forth from "just use cotton" to "eh, not so much" and various formulations of VG and PG for health and/or preference.

I have even accumulated some info (if I could only find it :D ) on the health benefits of PG.

Then, I happened upon these MSDS' from ED.

http://www.essentialdepot.com/msds/MSDS Propylene Glycol USP Kosher.pdf

http://www.essentialdepot.com/msds/msds glycerin kosher food grade.pdf

And it's like the old ditty "Things that make ya go 'huh'".

I went "Huh!?" and also "WutTheϜ.." ?

VG re: "section 3"?

PG looks a bit freaky as well.

But then I say if an MSDS was made for cigarettes it would be nightmarish.

So all this and I though I would just throw out this bit of raw meat here and see what happens during and after the feeding frenzy. Perhaps some ideas and opinions, at least.

Am I quitting vaping?

Now that's funny!

Nice... Especially the Other Remarks in section 3.

Heres a msds for caffeine - http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9927475

OMG.....

Now I am laughing.

Need to see if Wizard has some full body bio-containment gear for when I wipe my counter...and some other places as much coffee as I drink! Ya think maybe I can get some special TP?

Makes me remember the Dihydrogen Monoxide scare.

I can remember back when you just ate the Damn Hotdog and didn't ask what was in it.
I have preferred Well Water for most of my life and I'm 60 competing at work with people 1/2 my age.

Now people can't even wind a watch and need a sign/instructions/Warning labels for everything just to survive.

I still eat the hotdog without caring what's in it. I still smoke cigars. Yes, I inhale them a bit.

Best tasting water I ever had was the from the cistern in my grandfathers backyard. I still remember going into the back and dumping clorox bleach into it. That's how he "purified" it. It was cool and refreshing.

I used to work in plastic molding and am used to reading MSDS documents. There is nothing in these that worry me in the least. Every substance has issues when exposure/intake go up or other conditions exist.

And yes, I think if we looked at the MSDS for a substance that had the same properties that smoking cigarettes does, it would immediately be made illegal.

I do appreciate the research you did, but I'm gonna take it with a grain of salt. Yes, I do get a bit of lung irritation if I vape too heavily, but it doesn't affect my breathing, I don't cough. It's comparable to allergy season. I've not gotten any sort of lung infection since I started vaping, and stopped smoking entirely. Before, I got severe Bronchitis every single flu season.

So remember folks, is vaping healthy? Compared to what? Breathing fresh, clean air? I doubt it lol. Who here thinks it's just as good as that? Is it better than smoking? Almost certainly! And that's what this is about. Harm reduction.

I'm sure an air quality analysis in many large cities would be far scarier than the MSDS for PG or VG. The millions of people living in those cities (and the surrounding suburbs) are certainly not breathing "fresh clean air".

Yea MSDS is a good tool but thats all it is. I tend to think its meant more of the room was filled with PG or VG vapor and you were asphyxiated with the fumes what first aid to give (remove to fresh air). Same with ingestion if you accidentally drank a glass of it. If you are thinking this applies to what we do you are reading to much in to it.
