Iya guys.

New vapee. V new. Currently on a Innokin Endura T18 with a rotatable / knuckle drip tip and a T22 with a SS drip tip (which I was surprised don't overheat but has been cool - no pun intended- so far).

When I got the T22 (after the Endura T18), what I loved instantly and over the Endura T18 was the weight and shape. Plus, both seem idiot proof and effective, which I was initially v grateful of.

Wondering already though, any decent MTL box mod setups out there?

Not looking to buy right now, but enjoying learning and thinking on what my next buy might be.

  • Sommet under £50
  • A top fill
  • Owt with affordable coils here in the UK
  • Sommet I can play with a bit - e.g. adjustable airflow
  • Just sommet not too dissimilar to a T22, but with more to mess about with?

Such a thing exist or am I dreaming? o_O

Cheers Ladiekali.

Yeah, I mean mod + tank combo that'd give a good mtl vape and be sommet new to try.

I mtl vape, but like the feel of sommet boxy and with a lil' weight in my hand.

Wondered, there any combos or kits that I can use to mtl vape, but also change up a lil to give sub ohming a go?

Being new to this, just curious to experiment really. Been reading up, but so much out there, bit dazed, y'know?

Ta again!

Well.. 14watts. That's a challenge. Your box won't do sub ohm...Minimum Resistance: 1.2 Ohm
That said, try a RDA, rebuildable drip atomizer. Keep each coil above 2.4 ohm for dual coils.
32ga kanthal wire
2 coils, 6wraps per coil.. that will work on your existing box coming in at 1.2 ohms. 32ga wire will be like trying to knit with hair.

I would look for a box between 70 bare min, and 200 watts.
Here is my mod, rda and coil build, on ijoy 200, using 4 coils, 4 wraps each on a 3.5mm core.

Now you wont need anything quite that complex, a dual coil, 6 wrap, of 26ga kanthal should fire pretty decent at about 70-80watts, depending on your preference.

BigBrother - cheers again. Been hearing the aspire nautilus mini

...but more so the Joytech Cubis (with a cuboid mod), and less so the Aspire Plato...

I'ma need to do a fair bit more research into mods to go with either the nautilus or Cubis tanks, I think. Not looking to buy owt else just yet anyhow. Just want an idea of sommet to go for when I do.

Glad I hazarded on the T18 and T22 to begin with for sure. Blew my mind that sommet exists now that's made it so painless to put the smokes down. I hadn't even intended to quit. Figure if I'd have got a kit I couldn't work it mighta' put me off the whole idea, y'know?

GBalkam - ta, for that. Not a clue what y'advising . Ha ha. But appreciate you taking the time none the less. I ever decode iy'msg, be sure to hit you back on it. ;)

Advising you to get a more powerful box. 70watts or better, and you will get your best M2L from a rebuildable drip atomizer. (no tank, you pull the chimney off, drip onto the wicks and coils, put the chimney back on, and vape)
The video is just to show a Drip atomizer and how it works. That just happened to be what I was working on just as i saw your post. Some tank atomizers do have pretty good airflow, for mouth to lung, but none can touch an RDA since they are designed to pull fast and hard draws. If you prefer the tank though, the others would know more about those than I would. I only have the first one, a kanger toptank mini. (with rebuildable atomizer.. very small though)

If you desire to experience "sub-ohm" coils, you'll need a more powerful mod. You don't need a 200 watt device. A 50 watt device will suffice.

I use a 3-battery 200 watt RX200 mod, but I rarely vape over 30 watts. The mod was a gift, but the 3-batteries together last longer than a single battery in a mod would.

I currently use a rebuildable drip atomizer (clone Velocity) and a sub-ohm tank, the Uwell Crown. The Crown tank uses factory-made 0.125 or 0.5 ohm coils. It is top fill, and has an variable/adjustable air flow for mouth-to-lung or direct lung hits.

There ya go. I knew someone would know an RTA *tank*. I would suggest pricing various watt boxes, pick one in your price range, because a 70w box will do 50 watts, but a 50w box won't do 70. :)
Mine is 200w also, but rarely use that high, but it is there if i need it. (want it.. who NEEDS 200w???) lol.

Technically, the Crown is not a rebuildable tank. It is a clearomizer that takes factory made coils. There may be an attachment available to convert the Crown to a RTA, but the reviews I read weren't that great. However, the Crown is a fantastic clearomizer.

LOL I didn't check. Like I said, I'm not up on tanks. But that is good to know, that is isn't rebuildable. Depends on the OPs preference. These are just general ideas anyway, until we know exactly what they are looking for. Personally.. I'm cheap. so I avoid anything not rebuildable.

I just got a vapor flask Paid $43, at avail. I love it. It feels good in the hand and has some weight. I bought it for the uwell crown tank. My mvp 30 wouldn't fire low enough ohms.

Which I love the uwell crown.. It's a sub ohm tank. And I didn't think I liked sub ohm. I tried some other sub tanks with out any luck.

A UK dude!
Welcome. :)

The answer to your questions is yes! You can buy something that fits the bill.
If you are sure you just want MTL, then we can fix that.
There are some 'dual purpose tanks' like kanger subtank and joyetech cubis. Or start with the classic Aspire Nautilus BVC.
Personally I'd get an eVic VTC mini and cubis tank. Please don't buy from just anywhere though. There are shops any self-respecting member of the community should avoid. Basically the top google searches should be ignored. I would recommend Joyetech themselves if you can get a discount code or see something on sale price. Even with discount you pay a bit more, but the warranty is worth it.

GBalkam – ta s’much for spelling it out a second time. And in layman’s terms. Ha ha. Had re-read y’msg though and cracked it...and def’ intrigued. That said, not sure I know enough to be messing with RDAs at the minute.

Got me back to thinking on a box mod I can just try some different tanks out on for now, y’know?

Then, GBalkam, ta again for the mod advice. Given me some focus. And for the other suggestions, cheers LadieKali and BoogaWu. Hadn’t heard of the uwell crown before. Just wondering if it’ll provide a tight enough vape? Sounds a bit airy, looking at reviews.

Was looking at a coolfire IV pro 70w, seen as I’m really liking Innokin. Plus, it features a built in battery and seems to rate well for beginners. Then grabbing an Aspire Nautilus or Triton 2 even...

Also, just seen your rec’ of a evic vtc mini with cubis tank, djsvapour. Thanks for that.

The Triton Mini with the 1.8 ohm claptons is a pretty sweet MTL tank imo. fully adjustable air, can do restricted lung hits.
kanger toptank mini will do that also, with a rebuildable rda *no more buying coils*. You only need to make and mount 1 coil and there are videos on this site (I know for sure since i made one of them) on how to wick them. I have done dual micro coils on that RBA, once... not something i would bother doing again. LOL..knitting with hairs... Don't be intimidated, it's far easier than it sounds. Im not selling those, lol but it is the only one i have used.

Great MTL Tank without building Coils IMHO is the Aspire Nautilus Mini. Good selection of Replacement Heads 1.6 or 1.8 ohm. I prefer the 1.6 and Vape at 9.Watts; resulting in nice vapor production and great flavor with a cool vape experienced.
Mods there are so many decent ones out that are Regulated. iSticks, Provari 2.5, and a host of others.
Note: Tanks that feature below 1 ohm are basically not MTL Tanks. They are Direct Lung Sub Ohm Vaping.

I'll never buy another istick, until I know they fixed that 510 connector issue. Much love for my new ijoy now.. so far, not 1 drop of juice has gotten into the 510 pin.
ijoyrings.png

outer ring limits the amount of juice that can get it, grove traps it, middle ring keeps the trapped juice from getting into the 510 connector.. AND the connector is below the top plate.. Looks like you could tie a cable to your atomizer and almost swing from your mod. I actually just wanted to show off for ijoy. Bloody good idea they had there I would say!

I would recommend one that you can replace the battery. Battery costs $10-$12.00 Canadian vs how much for the new mod? And.. you will really appreciate this a bit later, when you are draining your battery and having to recharge it. I have 4 batteries now, 2 in my mod, 2 on the charger *worth every penny), when I get low power in my mod, i swap for the fully charged batteries.. no danger of over draining. I think a 2 station charger runs about $20 canadian. I paid $30 for the 4 station charger. You will not need the extra battery or charger right away anyway, most just charge on a usb while you are in bed. (and dont vape from the usb.. I read a post somewhere, that someone did and the battery got really hot.. hard to say exactly WHY.. but best not to chance it)

LOL.. Nearly every vaper here will tell you, vape gear is like potato chips.. you can't have just one.. always some new toy to buy. I didn't start out to have 1 rta, 5 rdas, an ecig and 200w box. It kinda just.. happened...
