I have come to a conclusion that if I didn't mess with my devices, they would do what they were made to do.. (I realize that there are some bad pieces from the factory) but in general what I am saying is I bought two 801 penstyle kits. For my wife and me. 2 months have passed and my wife has not had any trouble and is still using everything original out of the kit. Me, (maybe it's a male thing..BIGGER AND BETTER) I sit cleaning, cart mods, tea bags, fish filters, spend tons of money on mods, juices, and the list goes on. My area looks like a lab. You know the feeling, looking for the heavenly grail...
Sometimes I sit back and laugh at myself. My wife has nice plumes of vapor and content and I am sucking away with juice all over me.. over dosing on nic, (kidding of course) can't taste the flavors cause I have burnt out my taste buds from so many inhales, ...... off and complaining about these Chinese products..
The bright side of course is we both stopped analogs the same day which is now going a little over 2 months, that we are both excited about..
Point is: We both are do the same thing.. but she has less stress.. ha.
Now in our tweaking defense, some good things like the Tea bag mod came of this.. But my wife still laughs at me... Just got my PS Pass through, I love it, of course my wife laughs.

The fifty-one I had little problems from. Then came the 901's and battery problems appeared for the first time--couldn't keep em charged fast enough.
The starter kit for the 102 was great. Two lasted the whole day. Then I bought just attys and batteries and the problems began. Some days were so frustrating that I found a corner and just screamed.
Every time I heard the thing about kids taking vaping up, I laughed. There isn’t an adolescent out there that would stick with it. And it was a good thing I really wanted to stay off tobacco or I wouldn’t have either.
All this gave birth to modding around here: My theory on auto batteries is use them as long as they work trouble free and then take the connector and MIY. I even bought back a model I hated because of the batteries. The attys work great on a NicoStick.
With my filler method, I’m swapping out the old filler for new about every week or two and life is now sweet.

tdwave - If your house is like mine, I am doing all the changing of our cart refill materials, refilling her small case bottles from the large ones, and of course, reading up all I can on the forums. My desk is our home base vaping station. She's happily vaping. Well, so am I but my point is, as a rule I think guys like to tinker with stuff.
Not long after we began vaping I decided my attys needed cleaned but she said hers were working just fine and I could leave hers alone. I cleaned mine. They died. I left hers alone and she was still using those same RN4081 attys (uncleaned) with plenty of vapor and throat hit when we switched to the new M401s this week.
Maybe sometimes we see problems where there are none. Rule of thumb: If it ain't broke - don't fix it.

HAHAHA, I like the 'lab' analogy. My daughter says that when I lay my 'supplies' out I look like a druggie with my needles, tweezers and vials. When I first started, I did it all too, cleaned the atty, refilled with straw mod cards..the whole thing. After a month of this I decided to stop doing anything but drip (prodigy). I am proud to say that I've been using the same 510 atty for 110 days and have NEVER once cleaned it or let it drain. At this rate (also mixing my own juice) my vaping habit is costing me maybe $10 a week and NO stress!

Hi folks-

Just read thru this thread with a sense of been there done that including my living space looking like a lab.

Just wanted to share an experience not seen here about cleaning my own pipes (nose and sinuses)

I've had a much smoother time getting the ideal smoke by using a neti pot on ME.:)

I've been vaping since June and the fiddling, cleaning buying stuff etc. was really starting to drive me nuts (perhaps a tinkerer's nature is like OCD)

I started using a neti pot about a month ago and now I can actually taste and smell what I'm really doing...

The change is astonishing to me..

I find I'm doing a lot less fiddling w/equipment and enjoying my vaping:cool:.

If so inclined there a plenty of referances on the intertubes including how to videos.

It takes some effort but well worth it.

Great thread. I think that maybe for the most part it is a guy thing, sort of a "Tim Allen" thing, but for those women who also enjoy taking things apart and modding, ain't nothing wrong with that either!

Only been vaping a month but since upgrading to my Joye 510 with PCC and Passthru, I'm pretty content with things the way they are. Of course now I've gotten the bitten by the "make your own juice" bug so I've already spent a bit on ingredients but loving every minute of it.

This is without a doubt the best purchase/hobby I've ever invested in!
