There will be variations on the number of probe jacks on different multimeters. So it depends on the make and model of the meter. For instance, my DMM has four jacks.

For resistance measurements put the black (negative) probe into the jack marked COM. It also shows an earth ground symbol.

The red probe (positive) goes into the jack marked with an Ohm symbol (Ω). An Ohm is a measurement value of resistance.

Usually, the dial is then set to one of the Ohm settings for resistance. The 200 Ohms setting is typical for vaping use.

If the meter does not auto-zero, then cross the red and black probes and note the value. If not zero then subtract this value from your resistance reading.

Every multimeter I have seen comes with instructions regarding how to use the meter. These can be very useful.

Not here to spam a video for views, but I did a video that i've been told by vaping friends was pretty clear on instructions.
How to check RDA ohm resistance with a multimeter - YouTube

In short, Touch the 2 leads together because it'll give you a number you need to subtract from the resistance of your atomizer. Then you put the red one in the center pin on the bottom then you put the black one at the base where the threaded "nipple" so to speak and the bottom of the atomizer is.
