Will someone please help me with easy-to-understand-directions/tutorial on using the digital multimeter from madvapes? Clear pics or a video would be greatly appreciated too.

This is the one I ordered: Digital Multimeter

I know next to nothing about electricity/electronics and I really want to measure the ohms on cartos and voltages on batteries.

There are no directions that came with the one I ordered unless they are somewhere on the box which is printed totally in Chinese. I can't read Chinese.

I can't find anything on YouTube that shows how to use this one. I have Googled long enough and waited long enough for an answer from madvapes, but really need an answer now.

Pleeeeeeeeeezzz?

Hi Janet,

The Ohms scale is represented by the 'upside-down U'...Greek symbol. The Volts scale you want to use is DCV (Direct Current Volts).

Plug the black lead into the COM jack. Plug the red lead into the VOhmmA jack.

For measuring the Ohms of your carto/atty, set the selection knob at 200 on the Ohms portion. Touch the red an black leads together. If you get a reading of something like 0.6, remember that. That is inherent resistance in the meter system. Then measure at the battery connector end of your carto/atty. One lead to the center and one to the edge. If you get a reading like 3.3 Ohms, then subtract the 0.6 previously measured for the meter from that. You have a 2.7 Ohm carto/atty in that case.

For Volts, set the selection knob at 20 in the DCV range. Touch the red lead to the center post on the battery and the black lead to the surrounding area. Make sure they are not both touching each other. Push the button on the battery/mod and observe the reading on the scale. This operation may take a bit of dexterity...3 hands as it were. That is the unloaded voltage that the battery is putting out. Most voltages referred to in ECF are unloaded nominal voltages. A fully charged battery may be 1/2 volt or so above nominal.

Hope this is helpful.

Cool Breeze and Wolfstone, thank you for taking the time to do this. I really appreciate you Cool Breeze for writing out everything! I will study first thing I get a chance. (I've been looking for a different apartment to move to and just found out I will be moving Sept. 1st. So this may have to wait a while.) It would really be nice if MadVapes did a video for the electronically challenged like me.
