Can't take it any longer I must say hello to you all! Been lurking for a month or so. I've been to ashamed to admit to anyone that I caved back to analogs. Made It 1 year and 2 months after smoking over 30 years (thanks to, rip, Allen Carr's book), but back to back stressful situations led me back to the monster analogs. Then I saw a tv news story on e-cigs. Ok started with SE gold:p. Not bad I actually like them, but after reading info here I got my 510 manual a couple days ago. Love it!!!:D Can't get over all the flavors and how clean it is! This just might be the next easy way for me to quit for good. Bedtime now. Couple hits and I will talk with you all later. Thanks for all the great info!:thumb::D

Hello Cat and welcome..

You will get all the support you need. The 510 is a good allrounder, which I am sure will suit you well.

Alan Carr's book is excellent, but only works once, so if you slip back, then another method needs to be implemented, and here you are...

Good Luck and shout if you need help.

Catlvr, Good point, the "clean" of e-cigs is very pronounced, probably the reason I was able to walk away from 44 years of smoking (heavy) with such absolute certainty.
The day I got my e-cig was the day I smoked my LAST cigarette, it stunk, and tasted worse than the awful juice I had! And yes, this is kitty heaven here!

Welcome to ECF - cat! Wiz is right - there are a lot of Cats at ECF, so you are in good company!

You made a good choice in the 510 and some would argue that the SE is not a bad choice, either. Worst case scenario, you have a decent back-up PV.

Here is a link to the 510 model discussion area for you to check out (if you haven't already) - Joye 510 - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

Best of luck and let us know of your progress! mamacat :)

Well, hello and welcome to you too! I hope the 510 does it for you -- I think I am safe to say, that ALL of us have been there, done that -- when it comes to leaving the analogs behind (or even not so quite leaving them behind, but doing so much d*am better). I am only 20 days out -- a noobie myself in many respects.
I am going to wish you luck on your goals this time -- I think that what helped for me was that I built vaping up in my mind -- that it was going to be the MOST WONDERFUL thing. I encourage you to do this with your 510 -- build up that expectation in your mind, that THIS e-cig will be THE ONE. Pick the qualities that drew you to the 510, and focus on those things.

For me, what draws me first -- is that I get my nicotine! I also like the delivery system -- It feels so much like a regular analog. Sure, it may be a different length, it may feel like I am "smoking" a different brand, but ... there it is, that SATISFACTION! when I take a hit. He**, I dare you to feel that with a nico patch!!!

And DON'T beat yourself up if you have an analog (or 2, or 3 or more) ... ALL OF THIS IS TOTALLY YOUR DECISION!!! No one is regulating you, no one is counting. IF you quit -- it's YOUR victory, and YOUR decision. NO one else gets to make that choice! No one else has a say-so in this.

IF anyone else THINKS that they have a say-so in this -- bite their head off, chew it up, spit it out, and THEN claim innocence by saying that you were suffering from a nicotine fit. LOL
