ive only had my mvp for 2-3 weeks now, and im starting to wonder if its part of normal use or is something bound to go bad/happen?

ive noticed - not every puff - but majority of the times i take a puff, it emits this high pitch noise. almost as if some one turned on a tv.

is this normal?

its an authentic MVP v2. so i can have it warrantied if its not on its game.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I am in the electronics business, and have seen many, many bad devices in my time. It is perfectly normal for malfunctioning devices to emit a whine, or whistle. I made my living by fixing thing that others couldn't because I have very good high frequency hearing. Unfortunately, my hearing sucks at the vocal frequencies. My wife hates that. At any rate, if it is not coming from air movement through your topper, you may have a bad capacitor or regulator. They whine when they die...

Another member posted a problem with a whine and a power drop.
Took theirs apart and found a piece of plastic fallen on the board. Likely a Mylar type foil. After removing all went back to working.

Warranty - why worry, have it replaced.

Take the topper off and fire it. Does it still make a sound?

May get an inaccurate result with NO LOAD

may have a bad capacitor or regulator? this MVP is relitavly new. and as i know ive dropped it a few time, the whine was present since the minute i took it out the box and fired it the first time. so it makes me wonder if it was manufactured with faulty capacitors or regulators.

have not yet experienced a power drop. and my mvp is working as should. its just a semi-random occurance of noise that concerns me.

i would definatly like to open it up and see if it is maybe just a peice of something touching the board, but id like to beleive that voids waranty. so i cannot open this baby untill warrenty time is up.

any ways, so im the only one who is experiancing this issue?

Not normal. In my experience it's a loose coil winding in there causing the problem Another member posted, with pics, that after his starting dong that he had a battery meltdown while charging. The good news? The MVP contained the battery vent very nicely. The bad news? It was destroyed in the process.

If it's still under warranty I would ask about getting it replaced. Personally? I wouldn't use it.

the hardest picture to take in the history of mankind!! Anyways, it was set to 4v. I didn't hear the whine while I was testing, but I did hear it when a t3s was connected to it a week ago.

Share the cloud!! btw it hasn't been used since it made the whine, I guess this really didn't help the situation much. :/
