Hi guys, Just got an MVP 3 Pro yesterday and have found that it was some issues with resistance spiking causing higher voltage than needed.

I've read around a bit and seen a fair few people reporting this on the MVP 3 (non-pro).

Some reports say it's an issue with the atty not screwing all the way causing poor contact at the 510.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if it's likely an issue with the mod or the atty? I'm using the Subtank Mini with the rba coil. The 510 is clean and the AFC base is clean and dry. I've tried the Atlantis and there is inconsistencies in the ohm reading for that too, but not as extreme as the Subtank.

Worth replacing the MVP or will it just keep happening if I get another one?

Thanks for any help.

I have the original MVP 3 and the pro and eleaf istick 30w. I'm using the RDA section of the subtank and everything registers fine, showing 1.56 - 1.64, but when I fill it with eliquid and put it back together it shoots up to 2.13 then down to 1.7 constantly. I've spent so many hours trying to build a stable coil, using 26 gauge and 28 and 24 kanthal wire and I still can't get it to remain constant. What I've noticed is that when I screw on the tank on the MVP it pushes the opening of the subtank slightly and will read, "no atomiser". Same thing with the istick, so I think it's definitely an issue with the rba section of the tank or I'm doing something wrong when building the coils, though I doubt it as I've followed rip trippers tutorial on youtube exactly with no deviation. I've lost so many hours now trying to get it to work and I've finally decided I have a dud tank. I think the RBA section was just added on as an afterthought to grab as much market share as they could. I've decided to buy a proper RBA and have had enough with kangertech. I know a lot of people swear by them, but I've owned the following from kangertech:

aerotank mega: muted flavour compared to the aspire
subtank mini: leaking
subtank plus: tacky RBA

I think they're the most overrated company in the vaping community. I'm now looking for a proper RBA and gonna read reviews on ecf. I don't trust youtube reviews anymore (except pbsuardo), most of them are either full of comments from shills or the reviewer doesn't have the gall to point out flaws. I relied on one reviewer when I first started vaping because of the amount of subscribers he had, but after a while I noticed every mod or tank he reviewed would end up with him taking a vape, praising it and shouting, "damn...!" and I was like that must be good, but was disappointed when I tried it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback Khalid, helpful to know I'm not the only one, and also that it is likely the atty rather than the mod.

Do you have the new version of the RBA or the original? I've got the original and have issues, getting the new version in the mail shortly, so I'll report back with my findings.

I've also ordered a UD Zephyrus so I'll test that out too.

Just to add, before the MVP I've been using the ST on the Aspire CF Sub Ohm and never noticed any fluctuations. Of course the CF Sub Ohm is not regulated, so I figure I that would make a difference... Also, since noticing the voltage flare up when using Wattage mode, I've switched to locking Voltage and letting the wattage be varied. It has an inverse effect on the power.

K_tech... A bad connection IN the atomiser or between the atty and the mod?
Once it was an issue with the 510 pin on the atomizer not making good contact with the 510 on the mod; the pin was adjustable and I had it screwed in a little too far.

I use mostly rebuildables, and it's most often been one of the screws holding the coil in place backing out slightly.

Its the subtank plus, the one that holds 7ml

i guess i must be lucky then as i have an MVP 3 PRO and have 3 stm,s and no probs with any using of them with either the occ coils or rba decks

i have a couple of RDA,s on order and will see how they perform

but no issues with volts or ohms jumping around but ohms will vary a little as coils are used and gunk up mine will change by 0.1 or 0.2 over time but the reading is very stable

i does not matter if my tanks are on snug or just lightly screwed on they fire ok and never noticed any jumping of readings

i have read that when using some RDA,s on any kind of mod that sometimes the post screws on the decks need nipping down after the coils have been heated and tweeked etc always good to check anyway

could you be more specific about "resistance spiking"

contact resistance variation is not unexpected, but the lower ohm coil you use, the more significant contact resistance becomes.
