I would charge it once the light around the fire button begins to show red, indicating that the charge on the battery is getting low. While charging this light will be green and will stay "on", then will turn off when it is completely charged.

You can put the MVP on the charger at any point, you don't have to wait for it to discharge to a certain level. In fact, you can prolong the life of its battery if you charge it before it becomes low on a charge (called "topping it off").

I read to not let it get below 3.4, which I don't know that it'll let you anyway, and only charge to 4.1 (instead of the max 4.2).

And how exactly do you do that, IE charge to only 4.1 volts and not 4.2 (or whatever volt charge)?

All batteries and good chargers have protective circuitry to not Overcharge. So I see no point in trying to limit the charge cycle so it doesn't fully charge to the Max the battery can hold.

That's like filling your cars gas tank up to 98%. First you would need to know exactly how much gas the tank holds. Then exactly how much is left in the tank. Then do the math, I only need to put in 13.75 gallons to equal that 98% full mark.

If the MVP uses a standard li-ion battery (like most cell phones) the charge level doesn't impact battery life much. They tend to have a set life cycle of charges. So from 100% to 0% is one cycle. So if you let it discharge to 50% then recharge you've used half a cycle. The more you keep it charged the longer it will last.
