I had the same problem with my cartotanks on the MVP v1. On some MVP's the connectors for the cartomizers (Ikenvape) and the connector pin on the MVP don't make electrical contact. I only had this issue with cartomizers, as all my clearomizers worked flawlessly.

If this is a huge issue, you can pull the connector pin up slightly by gently prying it up with a tool. I didn't bother doing this with mine as I received the MVP for free in a raffle and planned on paying it forward to a close friend just beginning to vape and knew she likely would only use clearomizers on it.

I've read of one MVP owner who ground the inner connector ring down on the MVP so to not affect the center pin height.

Assuming you're using regular boge cartomizers, have you tried to take it out of the tank? This is one reason why I like to use syringes for cartomizers, easy trouble shooting with tanks. Your tank could be too low, and the O-rings are gripping it so well that it isn't budging from the force of screwing it down on the PV.. Try pushing your carto down just a tad to see if that will make contact. If not, I will assume that it is the actual firing pin on the MVP that is too low for the cartomizers, like baditude referenced..
