Mvp2 setup

Its hard. Not a lot of room in there but I did get it to work once. Issue I was having is the getting enough resistance for my vamo5 to fire it. I ended up grabbing a magneto and a cheap drip for under 50.00 and started there. Now I'm running a DarkHorse on a magneto and killing batteries lol! Box is the next step but all bs aside I recommend not rebuilding a protank at all but grabbing a kracken would be a good start.

I have seen that thanks I did everything he did 28 gauge menthol 12 wraps everything and I couldn't get it right

I had much more success using either 30ga. or 32 gauge. There is not a lot of room in those heads and getting enough wraps is tricky using a lower gauge as it makes the coil placement critical with very little room for error.

If you use 30ga or 32ga. you'll have fewer wraps of wire and you will have less chance of the coil touching the sides of the coil head and causing a short.

Your coil tails are also important. The one you put through the silicone grommet cannot touch the inside of the coil head at all, it must be pulled tight.

I'm with EBates on this one...

28ga is too heavy for those coils. I've found the best is 32ga on a 1/16" coil form. Since going with Kayfuns, my PT2 Mini V2 has sat on the shelf but just a few weeks ago I took it out and wrapped a new coil. I did a tension wound, 6/5 wrap build on a 1'16" drill bit that came in a 1.7 ohm. I wicked it with Japanese Cotton and it's been flawless on an eGo-T battery.

You'll find that the 1/16" bit fits perfectly in the wick groves and places the coil right where it needs to be. Just build it, wick it with cotton but leave it long. Snap the chimney in place and slide the rubber washer down. Then fluff the cotton so that it fills the entire slot and cut it off flush with the rubber.

I get no leaks, shorts, or gurgles and the flavor is great. Now I'm carrying that daily with my other tanks just to mix things up during the day...

Hi Rodney! Welcome aboard.

Click on my blog counter - I have a couple of links (maybe even a duplicate of what Susan posted?)

I use 30g kanthal wrapped on a 1/16" drill bit. 9/8 wraps (9 on top, 8 on bottom) and the come out to about 1.8ohms every time. Takes a bit of patience and practice.

The MVP's limitations are such that you probably should not build below 1.1ohms (although many out there say you can fire it down to 0.8) or above about 2.7ohms. Personally, I like the 1.7-2.1 range for my tanks.

Good Luck!
