Me too MrsC. Very happy to hear she is one the mend.

Now if we can just get Dr.s and Hospitals to stop trying to kill us.

Your telling me sky. Her Doctors were great, I paged them 4 times while she was in there and they called right back and took time to answer all my questions and explain everything. I know the staff has an large patient load and a lot of responsibilities and long shifts (although I did 12-16 hour shifts for years) so I understand having to wait or if the nurses and CNAs are no perky and happy. However, within a two hour period while I was waiting for her to stop having delusions 1 nurse tried to run an IV in the arm with a big pink band to warn them she had a mastectomy and they cannot draw blood, run an IV or take blood pressure from that side due to lack of lymph nodes. Then another nurse came in and hooked her up to IV fluids about 1 1/2 hours after the Dr had ordered no more fluids and start diuretic since she was delusional from retaining water, I told her no she can have that and she proceeded to hook up the fluids and told me that her nurse would have to tell her that or unhook her. I had to go running around the hospital to find the nurse to disconnect. Then the respitory therapist tried to give her a breathing treatment after 1 1/2 hours instead of waiting 4 hours.

I hate to think of what might have happened if I hadn't been there.

Aw Hon.....((((( Big Hugs )))) to both of you! Yes, good thing you were there.....geez. It's terrible people working in that profession are not Super Careful at all times. It is just too darn important!! I know that nobody is perfect and we all have bad days at work, but when it is really important, people need to be aware and be extra diligent in what they do.
