It's been so long since I've been here cause I've been working a lot.
and to answer this:

it doesn't necessarily tell them anything different, it's just cheaper. it's also less effective. you win some, you lose some.

And tastes nasty.
So my employment update:
Job #1 Filled the cup, still waiting on background check. 6 month with a chance to go permanent. 80 mile round trip.
Job #2 Waiting on background check, then I get to fill the cup. Permanent. 50 mile round trip. Starts mid September.
Job #3 Just got asked to fill the cup. Seasonal (until mid December) 12 mile round trip.
Job #4 Interview tomorrow. Permanent. 12 mile round trip.
I'm thinking of taking #3 until #2 starts unless I get offered #4.

Hi all!
I am back... Sorry to say, mom did pass, but at least we had some great moments while in the hospital. She was sent home with hospice on July 13th and passed on the 21st. I was fortunate to actually be holding her hand at the time she passed. I miss that beautiful lady!

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words before I went back home to be with her.

Destiny, my deepest sympathies to you! I'm so sorry to hear your mom passed, but it's good to know you got to spend some quality time with her before that. I know she must've went off to the other world, whatever your beliefs hold that to be, feeling loved. <3

Good luck on the job 4wheelin'. I remember when I was in the job pool--as soon as one offer rolled in, they all did. I could go 3 months without a bite, and then bam, 3 or 4 at once. It was like that both the last 2 times I was job seeking. Sounds like it's that way for you now too and you may get to cherry pick the job you want. Nice going!

My wife asked me why I wasn't going right after I got the call. I told her I had to study for the test.
She looked at me funny, so I said if I don't put more in nothing will come out.

Its been two years for me, luckily I have had a series of temporary jobs in between. but some job security would be nice

It sucks doesn't it? But keep your chin up because.........the economy is getting better you know.

All these part time/temporary, low wage jobs will have people on their feet in no time.
