This is why I love my Cat. :) She's a feral I caught, but she was so sweet, I couldn't relocate her. I've had her since March 22nd. She's about 7.5 months old now, and loves to play. She's a Calico Retriever. I toss a wadded up paper ball, she chases it, and brings it back for another go. I also have a bamboo stick ball with a bell inside. We play with that on the bed. I thunk it, and she chases it, and sometimes catches it, and brings it back. This is just too cool. I've never seen a cat do that before. It was all natural... I didn't coax it at all. We'll go about 20 times before she wants a break, but when she starts getting tired, I thunk it up real high, and she jumps up for it. She really only needs a 10 minute break before she's ready to play again.

we used to have a cat that would fetch. that is really cute :) people like to say, "oh dogs are smarter than cats because they can fetch" and i'm like if you knew anything about cats it's really not that hard to teach them to fetch, you just gotta give it some effort sometimes. i think cats are far superior to dogs.

Our new kitten Abby plays fetch. It started about a month ago when hubby was throwing her little call with a jingle bell in it and she would run and catch it. then he would go get it and throw it again. Hubby soon tired of this game and when he failed to go get it, she picked it up with her mouth and dropped it in his lap. She has been doing it ever since. :) way cute.

hugs
