After receiving the 50cal. with kick mod. a couple of days ago, I feel a strong need to post my first impressions on this device.
Out of the box it was perfectly seamless, with a mirror like finish. So much so in fact that I didn't notice it even came apart below the cone or above the switch on the base of the unit. The seams were virtually invisible.
After finally getting it apart to install the kick and adjusting it to just under half power, I promptly attached the IKV 2.5 ohm mini atomizer and started dripping. Previously I've only ever used regular Joytech SR attys for dripping and had never been overly impressed with the flavour, TH, or vapour production, even on the Provari. I found the difference between cartos,
clearos and dripping to be minimal at best, almost unnoticeable. But the IKV atty on the 50cal. changed that impression pretty quick.
The set-up is a fog machine, to cop a phrase. The vapour it produces on even a short pull is quite simply amazing.
Never thought it was possible to get so much performance out of such a short pull.
Never thought I would find anything that hit harder or performed better than the Provari.
Well, the 50cal with the kick and a IKV 801 atty was certainly a pleasant surprise.
There will definitely be a lot more dripping going on around here now and the Provari will be mainly used as the
"out and about" device from now on.
I had initially purchased the 50cal. on a lark, thinking it a cool looking "novelty" device, a conversation piece.
Well it still delivers as being a conversation piece but is most certainly "no" novelty device.
It is one heavy hitter and referring to it as my "heavy artillery" is certainly a very fitting description for it.
While the IKV attys may be top shelf attys and the kick by evolv a revolutionary advancement in vari volt
technology, having them combined together with the unsurpassed workmanship and quality that jrcustomturnings have built into the 50cal, a truly amazing combination is the result.
Switcher has really done his homework on putting this beast together with all the right parts is quite evident.
It may have been a while coming together, but for me at least, every bit worth the wait(and cost).
I now must learn to have a little restraint, something I've not had to exhibit thus far on my vaping journey.
It's become a bit of a novelty for me to be able to fill the room with vapour so quickly now. There is a definite
need for me to get some low nic e-liquid, as after a few good pulls the effects of being "over nic-ed"
is quite evident.
I would certainly NOT recommend this mod for a newbie or to anyone with a reckless nature, but everyone else....you most certainly will not be disappointed in any respect.
Switchers hit (or "shot") it outta the park with this combination in my opinion. Too bad it's such a limited run
and many folks that procrastinate too long on picking one up will lose out.
I've got mine and am so glad I didn't wait any longer before doing so. If funds permit and you are looking for a new mod to "blow your socks off" this one may just be it!
While this may not have been the most suitable forum to post my initial impressions it is a Canadian made/assembled device and I wouldn't want to see any Canadians miss out on getting one 'cause too many were sold "south of the border" or elsewhere.
I'm obviously not a reviewer, therefore this is not a review, but just a happy customer sharing my views on what I see as a great Canadian made product. (And Switcher ain't no slouch either)
Cheers Hitmetwice
