My 510 arrived!!!!

Well, it just came and I'm vaping away here while the spare battery is charging.
Got the Joye 510 kit with extra 20ml bottle of Marlboro 18mg and small bottle of Desert Ship 26mg juice.

First impressions- (after 15 min vaping)

It works well and offers a good throat hit and provides ample vapor!
Feels nice in the hand and looks good.
Not getting hot yet.

OK, the taste is a little odd. Smells odd as the vapor comes out too.
NOT burnt because I blew out the atty and added fresh juice but only 3 drops so may need more.
Yeah, I do.

Got to get the quantity of juice down right I think.
Obviously I'm using a factory filled cartridge too.

Haven't tried the extra Marlboro fluid yet will do so in a while.

Way cool though. I'm a happy guy.
Looking at my pack of cigarettes on the table but don't want one. YET.
We shall see.

As for the smell and taste of factory filled cartridges I can't help you I never tried one.

To start with take off the cart and drip your juice for awhile, this will get the atty properly conditioned. 2 drops, vape for about 10 drags and re-drip, nice slow draws.

I saw one of your posts earlier about the mail man skipping you. I was quietly hoping for you that it would in fact show up today! You are me, 4 days ago, so I remember vividly the feeling of wanting to give it a try and wondering how this vapor would actually taste compared to smoke. Now you know! Give it about 2 days for you to relearn how to draw it as opposed to the way you would draw on a cigarette and how to know when to refill/top off, etc.

I am waiting for my new Tornado kit today. Got that for the improved batteries and to start my atomizer stocking. I plan to keep 6 on hand at all times. So I am waiting again too!

For the record: I have not used tobacco since I got my Joye 510 4 days ago and have no urge for it yet at all. I wish you the same. I love not having that skanky, dirty cigarette taste in my mouth/throat all the time. I get the occasional urge to "smoke" outside because that was my routine (did not smoke in the house), but it's not so much a tobacco craving as it is just a change in method. I feel like I switched brands, not like I quit smoking.

Been an hour or so now and the taste is the only negative for me.
Obviously I just need to try some different juice until I find one I like.
The really odd thing is that I think I may want something a little bit sweet and fruity which is NOT what I normally like.

I'm getting the nicotine alright, in fact have a slight head rush going on but that MAY also be a side effect or something.
Time will tell.

My Tornado has arrived! Probably won't use it until late tonight. I have to charge the batteries and all.

I had trouble with the taste my first day or two. It's a matter of breaking in a new atty, and learning that you have to give it time to wick up between "sessions". I've settled on 2-3 long slow puffs then a wait. That is the biggest learning curve to me. You can't just puff puff puff like a cigarette. It's more like sipping coffee as opposed to guzzling a beer (I guzzle mine anyway) Then there is the whole cart filler material thing.

I am still torn between Pyramid Tea Bag material and Marineland© Rite-Size - Bonded Filter Pad (not the Rite-Size U Blue Foam which I find too course and sponge-like), favoring the Filter Pad for ease of use and least waste (Juice trapped in the bottom). The trick was not over stuffing it. I like it in there nice and loose.

I agree on the flavor. I found tobacco flavors, while not bad, were not my favorite. I like vanilla better and am loving my Pina Colada from Tastyvapor.us. I quit smoking, why do I want to flavor my yummy vapor like burnt leaves?

Hi Chazzman, Mine arrived too! I have both of the batteries charging right now so they didn't run down and force me into needing an analog...LOL I plan on starting fresh in the morning! I did try it out while I was priming it and have to agree the flavor is not very good yet...but I have high hopes I will find one I like!

When I got my carts (my very first cignot order back in dec) they had cappucino and I burned thru that stuff. I wasn't keen on the marlb although a couple of weeks later I went back and vaped it all like a hungry shark LOL
I know when my first 510 arrived I blew that atty out until my cheeks hurt - Id read all the info here and yes I did still taste primer for a bit but it goes away. A good strong juice helps a bunch too - and yes I got a headache and a free trip to the bathroom or 3 because I vaped far too much, too quickly and the nic was too high
I also went to direct dripping fairly fast as it gives me a stronger taste than carts did and it gave me the one thing I was - and am - missing from cart use - CONSISTENCY!

Pro-tip: Dont try and SMOKE your 510 - you do not use it like you use cigs - also it dries out your atty so fast that your primer drips will vape away before you can taste anything. Long, slow drags - you can get faster later when you get the technique down - but at first, cool your jets and think 'cigar, cigar' and things should improve.

Thanks so much Captain, you've been a big help to me these past few days and I really appreciate it.
I'm not using it like a cigarette, got that part down I feel, it's all about the flavor for me today. It is ONLY the first day after all and I just need to find some yummy juice.
BUT who knows, I may find once my taste buds are back I like the Marlboro and Camel but right now I want something sweeter.

Might I suggest Johnson Creek's Red Oak Domestic? It's sweet with a good aftertaste, and I really like their Original Tennessee Cured.

Welcome to vaping and glad you got your stuff. I just tried a super t tip today and wow....I was not one for dripping until this thing. It only takes a couple drops, is so much easier than the carts and those 2 drops last a long time. I think I have just switched from carts and cartomizers, this tastes better and is so much easier. Im short on time and just wanted to say congrats.....also check out some cart mods that will improve your experience if you havent already. Most are simple and cheap(well the ones i looked into) give it a go. again congrats

Yay Chazz!!! I'm so glad to hear it!

I'm two weeks ahead of you, so here's what I have to offer:

1) You'll learn as you go. I swear the first three days was the hardest because it's all new and strange, and unlike smoking where your best bud is right there with you showing you what NOT to do, your pretty much alone. Of course, the forum is a Godsend, but you know - if only all the experienced e-vapers could have an eye trained on you to tell you what you are fudging up.

2) The taste was my personal hurdle. It's why now you'll have to go back and order more flavors. Definitely order both PG and VG (or if you ordered all of one, order a few of the other next time). Personally, I think it was the PG that was not doing it for me. But definitely experiment.

3) Heh - Ironically it's the tobacco flavors that I like the least. I think of it as vaping - not smoking. Totally different thing, just like puffing on a hookah is nothing like a cigarette.

4) Keep the cartridge wet. Make sure the filler is lined up enough so that it comes in contact with that atty. And if it's just too rank for words (which it will be, at least occasionally, until you learn how to coordinate suction and draw), rinse out the filler, dry it well and refill. Experiment, above all things.

I have not had a cigarette since I started vaping. I don't want one at all - just totally have no desire. That says a lot right there.
