Here is a pic of my 6v mod. Its a 501 fitting with 501-801 adapter. I had it running as high as 8v, at 8v it was very hot, I burned juice so fast and the flavor was hot. Now I have it running a 6v. It is pretty good, nice smooth vapor, still eats juice fast ( I direct drip ). The mouth piece that comes with the hv atty is so flat, and I taste the plastic some. Other than that it performs well. I also have the 3.7v box mod running a lr atty. That 3.7 is awesome, performs great, I will say though, I like the bigger diameter opening on the 6v HV atty.

I also use the 801 hv atty from ikenvape a lot. It has a very forgiving dripping ability and also tends not to get hot - it gives a pretty full "vape" too. The dekang juices are pretty thin - I think it may be 100% PG and that could be part of the reason it burns sometimes and eats juice. But dekang is cheap juice and you like it so wth?! BTW I vape without any tip on the 801, they call it tailpiping I think - it's just easier for me and the thing is pretty long already.

Yea I usually dont use the tip, I dont like it.The juice I have is 100% vg, pg I dont like.
To get 8v I was using 2 15270's rated at 3.7v each but fully charged I get consistant 8v. I also put them in my unvoltage regulated setup.

Have you metered them after a half hour and after an hour?

Side note, the tip that comes with the hv atty, once it gets wet around the edges from fluid it falls off very easy making i hard to use in your pocket. I went to the store and brought it with me it fell off several times, and then i didnt even know it but i lost it. Vapes so much better with no tip but, can make travel use messy. grrrr
