At this point you will have an atty that performs like (or better than) brand new. I have used this technique with 510, 801, 901, 401, and 4081 attys and it always works for me

Push button until you see orange hot

Hi I have a 901 but don't have a button to push could you please advise what I do next.

Thanks.

Blow from the l.e.d. end while looking into a mirror.

wow, thanks highping for sharing your awesome cleaning technique.

This method was built in, into many earlier units....which they called the cleaning cycle and would go off automatically after so many puffs, but the bad part was that it would get your cart to have a strong burning taste. I dont know if the "cleaning cycle" is still built in to the regular units as i use nothing but mods nowadays (PS Prodigy)

There were so many diff methods discussed in the forums before and noooone of them worked for me to the point where i gave up and just threw away atoms that started performing poorly. The coke bath worked but in return...gave me a strong nasty taste.

I revived 3-4 poor atoms with your method, burned one (i was rushing the process), 3 were too gone to revive....and revived my almost gone current atoms.

I can see this method being extremely efficient, if done about once or twice a week.

again, thanks for sharing your method...this will save me a bunch of money.

HUZZAH!

Highping, You rock. With all my 510 atty woes of late, I finally decided to try your resurrection method on one of my old gunked up atties. At first, I thought this one was too far gone to revive — it took a long time to get hot and even longer before it I started seeing any hint of a glow. The orange glow would only last a second or two before dying off. But I just kept at it, went through all the steps a couple times and what do you know?

It works again!

Vapor production is very good and after about an hour of use, the flavor and throat hit are coming around again too. Awesome.

yep...rinsed it...blew it out, getting no hint of glow, not even a peep of sound from the atty. is this good riddence? can it really be dead?! say it aint so!:(

Some PV's like my Prodigy actuallt break attys if you tighten them too much. The actual wire that is connected inside of the atty breaks from over tighting them too much and too many times. Just a thought.. because thats what my first 2 attys died from. I know now not to over tighten on my V2 and also I blow them out time to time and do a bry burn every once and awhile and I have been using the same atty for over a month now no problems and after a good blowing out it burns orange everytime. Then its clouds a 6volts from there!!

I cannot thank you enough!! I was down to my last 4081 (have 5 on their way here as we speak...tracking in progress...) and I tried this on my remaining atty that was on it's way out, or so I thought, and I can't believe it is working like new!

Thanks so much PortGuy!!

Now I won't be tempted to jump the mailman when he gets here tomorrow

I did it!

I was nervous to try it. My atty was still working, it just tasted burnt a lot of the time. But what if I ruined it???

I bravely proceeded (after I printed out the instructions so I wouldn't screw it up:rolleyes:).

When I thought I'd done everything just the way the directions said and put it all back together...nothing. Ack! Nothing, nothing, nothing.

But then! Suddenly, I could taste something! Something very like what I'd put in the cart. And vapor! It got even better after a minute or two. Hooray!

Thank you, Highping. I not only have an optimally working atty but also a huge sense of accomplishment.:D

You printed the instructions?????? I translated them to a bunch of dead atties owners!
I printed the instructions the first time I did it, but after that I don't need them anymore.

It really boils down to a very simple series of steps...

1) Rinse out good from both ends under the hottest water you can
2) Dry burn until you get a nice bright orange glow all the way across
3) Repeat until you feel there is no more benefit to be gained

The only caveats are...

1) If you are using high voltage, pulse so that it never gets above an orange glow
2) If you are using an automatic battery, blow through the battery while watching in the mirror

I really love using my Chuck with a big huge 3.7v battery to do this.
It never gets too hot, so I don't have to pulse it at all, just sit on the button until done.

I just tried this with a week old atty that was putting out very low vapor. After finishing it is clean enough I can see the clean coil in there with no gunk on it. It still doesn't work worth a damn. No improvement at all.

Maybe it was just a crappy atty to begin with and was not very dirty in the first place.

If it does not glow the job isn't finished.
