Yeah, I always suggest a PC bank account to people whose main bank doesn't do e-transfers. But PC isn't available in Quebec.

I'm of the opinion that you should get a new bank account. This is 2012 and there are a ton of uses for e-transfer, it makes life a hell of a lot easier. I wouldn't even consider using a bank without e-transfer, I used it frequently before I started vaping -- I love it!

There is a chance that some sites that use EMT can use paypal but you have to ask the vendor and remember not to mention anything about ecigs when you use paypal .

Yes, that is what I did, I e-mailed the vendor and was told to be careful not to mention e-cigs. Strange that PayPal doesn't accept ecig or their products. But at there is a way around it. They are an excellent vendor with amazing customer service, great products, and the delivery is super fast. The first time I ordered them I had to sign up for PayPal so now at least I can use that whenever I need anything from them.

My bank is the Credit Union too. It doesn't seem to have Hyperwallet either. I live in a small town so maybe that has something to do with it.

Amazon and Paypal clamped down on ecigs. The legal questionability in some countries is what brought it on (imo, haven't actually read the reasons..TO THE GOOGLES!), and they are global players. Last thing they need is some gov. clamping down on them, so it rolls downhill.

Back! With 2 quotes!
Other alleged impacts of Big Tobacco include lobbying to have PayPal, Amazon, and eBay consider electronic cigarettes tobacco products and make use of their services against the terms of service for purchasing e-cigs or receiving payments as an affiliate seller of their products.
Recently ASH, under the direction of public interest law professor John Banzhaf, has brought electronic cigarettes into it's sights as well. ASH is responsible for threatening legal action against organizations such as PayPal, Amazon and Facebook prompting those companies to change their policys regarding electronic cigarette advertising on their networks and has filed complaints with the FDA and states attorney generals in protest of the sale of electronic cigarettes.

More or less, they're covering their behinds.

The more I'm reading about all this, the more riled up I get. Where were these guys when I was 14 buying pouches of tobacco to roll? Where were they when cola decided HCF was a better alternative to cane/beet sugar? /rant off, need a vape...

My bank (a credit union) also does not offer EMT. However, they do offer Hyperwallet which I have been able to use with a couple vendors. Its instant and easy to use. Maybe your bank offers Hyperwallet?
I've also used Paypal and CC with some other Canadian vendors.

This. I use a credit union that offers HyperWallet instead of EMT, and have successully used it with several Canadian vendors. I would check if your bank/credit union offers this service, and if so email the vendor to advise.

Why don't our Canadian suppliers offer this service? I know it costs the retailers ~ 2% for credit cards, but it just seems that this is the price of business

PayPal and CCs (and E-Bay, to an extent) are distancing themselves from the e-cig market in case there is any legal fallout.
