my battery drained to 3.27

my sony vtc5 drained to 3.27 and i didnt realize it because it was firing when i was inside the dentists office. im home now and its on the charger, i know i forgot to put on the locking ring. the battery is charging now but could i hve damaged the battery and is it still safe to use? i got lucky

The minimum is either 2.5 or 2.75, I can't remember which off hand. 3.2 is perfectly fine.

I put a battery on the charge and it read 1.8 volts. That when you know its dead
