I've swapped batteries, stretched spring a little, checked to make sure the spring is centered and even cut away the plastic covering on the bottom of the batt to ensure no interference. The thing just won't fire regularly at all. It will vape perfectly one minute and not at all the next. Sometimes it works great for a while and just when I think it's on track and working ok, it dies again.

I have an email out to altsmoke this am, but no response. I assume they're not online until after the holiday. In the meantime, any suggestions? Other than the spring needing to be stretched or replaced, I don't recall seeing any other known issues with the PV itself. I'm stumped.

What Jimi sais is true, it rarely happens, but it does happen. The contact plate in the spring is shaped like an arrow. If any imperfections are in the switch cup it can cause an uneven activation of the switch. When you tap it you in a scense remove the burr by knocking it out of the way to enable a full contact of the plate.

This sounds like it could be my problem since none of the other things I tried had much of an impact. I was probably moving it when I took it apart to adjust the spring or realign the batt which explains why it'd work right after I fiddled with it. Anyone ever ask to have theirs fixed?

Still waiting for feedback from alstmoke. I just sent another follow up email. Anyone here had recent email contact with them? I sent a question to them re the SB a week and a half ago when I was shopping for a PV and never heard back. (it was through the "contact us" tool on their site) Since I got my BB I've sent 3 emails re the misfire and no response.

I had a similar experience and it was the batteries. The spring in the bottom of the BB is basically as wide as the negative end of the 14500 battery. If any of the plastic insulation on the battery wraps around the bottom of the battery, it can cause a bad connection. I trimmed all the plastic offf the bottom of my batteries with arazor and havent had a problem since.

I cut away the plastic around the bottom and the problem is still there. If I tap the switch or jiggle it a little it'll fire and I'm thinking it's the switch. I'm gonna pm them now and see if they can get back to me. I think I'd like a new one since the hit or miss vaping thing isn't much fun.

Hey, My initials are GH. Initially I support@altsmoke.com over the weekend, but no response and I assumed it was due to the holiday. I emailed again, then after reading othe altsmoke threads I realized I could open a ticket, so I opened one yesterday. Hope to hear back soon.
About 2 minutes after posting the above, I checked and found that Chad emailed me in response to my ticket. I got home from my trip today and following Chad's advice to check for resistance on the switch, I found the spot then gently tapped with my knuckle. So far it's been firing like a pro. Thanks Chad!

A few weeks ago I was having the same problem with my silver bullet. Constant misfires.

Ive been rotating two 18650's for months (low rez attys are amazing) and I took it apart to see if I could find anything wrong. There was noticeable "build up" on the negative side of both battery's. It was just like a dark, fine, metallic haze that was only on the negative terminals. I cleaned both batteries and vaping bliss ensued. No more misfires.
