why is this? my guess is its gonna die soon. when i hit the button, i get 1 loud snap then the draw is fine, but it happens every time. its the only one of my "active" cartos that does this

It might help if you didn't mix your PG\VG with gunpowder?

idk, its just 1 loud pop every time i fire it up, kinda concerns me, but the carto is still vaping like a champ and hits every time.

I have noticed that the cartos with polyfill (E1) will do that occasionally. I had one of them that fired with a single loud pop and died right there
When I asked this question I was told it's flavor gnomes. 
Currently I have several in my collection that did this when I used them. They've now been washed 2 to 3 times and are still going strong, so it's not necessarily a sign that they're going out. The only trouble I ever had with them is once in a while they would pop and at the same time spit a small amount of hot juice out the mouthpiece. That made me wonder if maybe the ones that pop don't have their coil completely covered or something. It might be my imagination, but the poppers also seem to produce better vapor.

I have a couple that do the same. They are still going, but I notice I have to take an extra primer puff on them for the same vape.

I've had a few like that. One of my E2 R4s (at least I think its an R4) does it.
It doesnt seem to affect the vapor that much...who knows whats going on with them.
