The unfortunate thing here is I know when people have issues they post their battery wattage. I have 3 different types of batteries and I don't know the wattage for any of them. :/ They are all ego batteries. One is really long, one is slightly shorter, and one is the small ego with the blue light function. I first had the issue with Tasty Vapor's ego DC carts. They used to last me from 1-2 weeks. I was using Atomic Cinnacide. Then all of a sudden every cart would only last 2-3 days and it would go burnt. The cotton (or whatever it is) would turn black around the coil and taste bland. I tried asking them about it, and lets just say it didn't go very well. I ended up getting no help from them and the misunderstood my question for a complaint. So I found the same carts elsewhere. Same issue. So then I switched to a different cart, the smoktech ego mega DC. The first one seemed to work okay. Then by accident I bought the shorty version. They also burnt out within 2-3 days. I ordered myself the mega version again, and I guess the first one was a fluke, because again I've used this one for about 2 days and it's burnt out. I can't afford to keep using a new cart every 2-3 days. I don't understand why before these carts were lasting so long and now they aren't. I have been making sure as soon as the juice gets a bit dry tasting I refill. I know smoking an emptier cart can cause the burning. Maybe I'm smoking more than I used to? I have been really stressed lately so I don't know. Does anyone have suggestions or tips on how to make sure they don't burn?

Normally, cartos burn out because they are too dry or hit with too much voltage. In other words if you don't keep them really wet, or if you give them 5 volts when they prefer about 4 volts, then the material layer around the heater coil will start to burn. And both together is even worse, of course.

Unless you have an eGo Twist with the stepped voltage adjuster then maybe it's just that they need more liquid, more often. Basically you haven't put enough liquid in until it's dripping out of the bottom end - then it's enough...

Another thing is that once you have loaded up a regular carto as much as it will go, you can only get about 6 cigarette's worth out of it, if you are thinking in terms of how many cigs it is equal to. That means if you smoked 15 a day then you'll need 3 carto refills a day.

One way to avoid dry cartos is to use a tank system. For an eGo a 4ml tank would be about right. You can get a 4ml tank plus some tank carto refills and take it from there. The tank keeps the carto wetted out. Tank cartos have a tiny hole drilled in the side wall down near the bottom end, so the liquid can feed into it.

If you are talking the Jumbo ones, try one of the clear ones.

You will be able to easily see if you are filling/saturating the carto evenly when you fill it. Very often you can get air bubbles.
