I don't have the little OHM gauge, so I'll just have to play it by ear until further notice. (It may take awhile).

But I recently found out about the little trick of using kanthal wire and silica wick to get my tank working again. I was floored when it stopped working, but after some research I found out that tanks are only supposed to last so many days (Which makes me lucky they lasted a month and a half).

I'm using an ego-T battery with what I assume is a Stardust type tank? If you look up the ego-T on Amazon, you'll see the type of clearomizer I have.

My question is, I saw multiple people using 32 gauge kanthal for rewiring their wick, but I could only get my hands on 27 gauge kanthol. Can I still make this work for the rewicking, or do I just have to deal with my losses until I can get my hands on some 32 gauge wire?

Also, I got some 2mm silica wick, so do you guys think that's good for the type of clearomizer I have?

STOP!! DO NOT PASS GO!! DO NOT COLLECT $200.00!! And if you continue, you may GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL!! Or, at the very least, you may fry your battery. I know that the ego's have a built in safety to prevent that but, do you really want to trust a cheap Chinese battery with your safety?

Please get something to check resistance before rebuilding or even fiddling with your coil.

Getting off of soapbox now.

Ahh, alright. Well, if anyone can tell me where to get a cheap ohm reader, that would be amazing. I'm currently broke, so there's not much I can do, ^^;

Luckily, I have two mini T3's coming in the mail (hopefully tomorrow). I figured I should get some spare tanks, and they were only $5 a piece.

Harborfreight.com - they have cheap multimeters for five bucks

I'm looking for something slightly more 'stupid friendly', as my dad would say it.

Though I might just get it anyways, haha.

Would this work, and are they a trusted vendor? Link Goes Here.

EDIT:

Just curious here, trying to see what my options are. I know that this will probably strike as a stupid question, but would this count as good wire for my clearomizer? Another Link. (It came up in my search when I looked up 'Kanthal Wire' on the Walmart website.)

Here is the best place to get your wire. Resistance Wire And shipping is free.

Also, try this for your wick. (It's what I use) Buy 100% Natural Cotton 500-Foot L Cone Cooking Twine from Bed Bath & Beyond Boil the heck out of it first (2 or 3 times and change the water each time) as it's unbleached cotton. The problem with cotton is that it gunks up much quicker than silica. The good thing about cotton is..........................Well, just try it, you'll like it. :vapor:

For a little over $10.00 you can rebuild about 300 coils.

You can rebuild the same coil several times but at some point (maybe 5-8 rebuilds) the rubber insulator breaks down due to the heat of the coil. I've tried experimenting with a different insulator but haven't had much luck yet.

Fasttech is OK, but figure on waiting 3 or 4 weeks for shipping right now.

No, that's not resistance wire. Temco is the beast place for wire, someone already posted the link.
