When you say shocks to your tongue, are you referring to hot juice that hits your tongue as you inhale? That's usually associated with some flooding of the coil and insufficient heat to fully vaporize the juice. Changing from one brand to another of mods won't help as the issue is the tank and coil. What tank and coils are you using, what juice (the VG/PG ration can be helpful) and what are your vape settings as far as wattage? That info can help guide you to some sort of solution.

Is this the kind of sensation you get when putting your tongue on the terminals of a 9v battery?

And does it happen only when the mod is firing?

Lastly, is this a pass-through device that lets you vape while charging, AND if so, does it only happen when you are using it that way?

Is your drip tip metal or resin? I find with metal, if the juice spits, or even if the juice is too hot, I might get what I'd call a "shock" on inhaling it. But, that was SUPER rare.... I think Eskie is correct, though I'm unsure why it's happening NOW versus before, which is what makes me think it might be the tank, maybe you've lost an O ring somewhere (though, typically, that will cause leakage, also, but I'm not super familiar with your tank, maybe something has happened to it that's causing flooding, extra heat generation, and whatnot.) I'd try a different tank since you've already established it's not the mod, by swapping that out. Or, take it in to your local vape shop if they are good at figuring out stuff. If it's only happening occasionally, you might try a resin drip tip or notice when it happens.... Is it after you've vaped a lot? That makes me think it just might be heated juice or vapor even heating up the metal tip over time. That's my best guess, but I'd still try something else/take the mod in to be looked at.

If you are getting that "battery terminal" taste? (Surely we all licked 9V batteries as a kid... Maybe that's just me, LOL) Don't pass go, take whatever combination you have going on to your vape shop for a quick diagnosis. Or, switch tanks. I'm inclined to think your tank has a slow leak going on somewhere, but that's just me.

Good luck!

That means your mouth is either completing the circuit between a power source (battery) and load (coil/atomizer). Or, becoming part of the circuit.

This is probably an issue with your atomizer. If you have another tank, or have access to another one, try it.

If you have a tank with a metal drip tip / mouthpiece, replace it with plastic or glass. These are insulators and won't conduct any current.

You might have an electric personality :w00t: ..... You're obviously getting electric current from somewhere as most people know what electric shocks feel like..... If something is free floating and not grounded properly then transient currents can occur......... It's just a matter of finding out where it is coming from which should not be difficult. If you swap mods and it still occurs then the tank is likely the culprit.... Be aware that transient currents can develop from other sources that are not even related to your vaping gear.

try a non metal drip tip, try placing the present version on your lips and press the button and dont inhale, see if it still gives you the shock sensation, if it does, then there is an issue, to see if you have a sensitivity to metal, put the drip tip on your lips and dont press the button...

if you get the shock when tip is placed on lips and no button is pressed, then you have a sensitivity issue
if you get the shock when button is pressed and not inhaled, then there is an issue with the mod/atty
if you get the shock when button is pressed and inhale, it could be spitback if the option above causes no problems

You know, with a buildup of static electricity, I could see shocking oneself on a metal drip tip though I really doubt that's what's happening. :) I think the consensus is to use a resin tip first, I find them so much more appealing than metal drip tips, really. I loathe those and always have. As far as I'm concerned resin drip tips are where it's at, anyway. Agreed that if the mod were at fault it would likely not fire. I'm thinking more of overheated e-juice perhaps, causing that shock "feeling." I've had it with metal drip tips before.... It's like an "ooh, ouch" against my lips....

Hi Earlier used a kaengertech and after a few months it's started giving me shocks in my tongue! I changed to another brand thinking it was my device having issue but since I'm facing the same problem with another brand I wonder what it could be??? To scared to vape now since the last experience was quite painful!:-(
    Welcome and glad you joined.
Sounds like you may have could have a number of sensations which may be the cause.
A long non ferrous drip tip (helps eliminate spit back and cools the vape along with insulating elect. discharge) may help eliminate a couple possible causes.

You are not being shocked by the mod. If there were a short the mod simply wouldn't fire (in a regulated mod, in a mech mod a short will be far more dramatic than a shock on the tongue).
Yeah, even if the mod malfunctioned there is a ton of non conducive rubber and glass before the drip tip so the current would go back to the chip and fry it or to the battery. Before it would shock your lips it would shock your hand basically. The path of least resistance.

I think it was the coil .. cleaned it and till now all is fine .... one more question I haveHow long does a ceramic coil last ???? I smile only in the evening some puffs here and there ....
