I posted this in the newbie forum, but I thought I should add it here as it has totally saved some of my juices:

I found that when I mix the tobacco flavors, I get a metalic taste. Now here's my solution:

take some PG liquid about 1/2 a hot glass full or 15ml. Get a package of malboro or camel snus. they sell it at most smoke shops or gas stations, rite aid does not carry it. :) Snus is a tobacco product, sells for about 3 bucks for 6 pouches. they are for chewing tobacco. Anyways put about 3 pouches in your shot glass with your PG, then stir it with a popsicle stick or pencil, don't worry the pouches are durable and you won't break them. Let it bake in the sun for about 2 hours. (stirring occasionally) then mix that 1/2 and 1/2 with the tobacco absolute for your parts with nicotine, and the metal taste is gone.

Also my newest DIY trick for any other juices, if you have a juice that comes out too harsh, put it in the sun for about 2 hours. I swear to god it takes away most of the painful throat hit, and doesn't harm the chemicals. :)

Has anyone else done this?

That's a great idea, I love to rock those Camel snus, the camel mellow is my fav flavor. Marlboro tastes pretty weird and a little harsh themselves, and one of them in particular is called "rich" and tastes like cheap bourbon...might be good after a night of drinking but not for everyday use. The camel mellow is perfectly sweet, smooth and punchy so I'll try it with that. I wonder how much nic it would add to the mix?
Splendid! That's for sharing man.

I wonder how that works, maybe it evaporates/destroys some of the chemicals in the flavoring that are no good? Do you leave the bottles open or keep them closed?

Could you post this in the DIY e-liquid subforum? A lot of people there would be interested and might not see it here (I happened upon it accidentally).

Hawaii! Yay haha
I am going to try the sun-bake method right now on a small bottle of Totally Wicked Extra Stout that I have. It is super, super harsh, the throat hit is painful, and I don't vape it as much as I would like to.

I'm doing laundry today, so I'm going to my backyard (where the sun is just baking everything) with my ES liquid.

Thanks for the tip asharp!

Glad you found the tip. I've reposted it there!!

I leave the bottle sealed. it's pretty warm here, I live in the desert, so think 90+ and that's what I let it sit at. Sometimes it will slightly color the juice (very very light orange tint to my green apple, that was clear) but the flavor is awesome!

And I have no idea what it does to eliminate the harshness, but it is Beautiful!!

Thanks for posting this asharp. Since I'm allergic to PG, I've switched to all VG.

Lately, with both pre-mixed and DIY juice, after a few drags, I noticed that the juice was like acid on my tongue and the back of my throat. It hurt to the point of tearing up my eyes and I'd have to stop vaping.

So I took your idea a step further. I took a coffee cup half full of water and nuked it for 2 minutes. Then I took 2 bottles of 4mg nic DIY juice, and 3 bottles of 6mg nic Pre-mixed juice and popped them in the hot water.

Swirled the bottles, shook them, repeat.

I can't believe it! The flavors are a lot better and there is no burning on my tongue or throat. The juice is a lot mellower.

Thanks for the fantastic tip!!!!:toast:

I believe that if you mix your liquids ahead of time, the problem is avoided. Many will refer to this harshness as "hot spots" very common on freshly made juices. Once the liquid has set for a couple of weeks to a month all the flavours have finally melded and the vape is much better.

That is why we find inconsistencies in store bought liquids. The recipe is constant for the most part, you are just vaping your wine before it's time :) Liquids need to mature and do enhance over time.

Ultraviolet (UV) light will also eliminate the nicotine tho?

.. decrease potency perhaps and start the decomposition (read accelerate the break down of the carrier fluid)
UV light beams down on all tobacco plants, which is where the nicotine is from.. I don't see the nic going anywhere
... not the same thing. The nicotine has not been extracted from the plant, and is buried deep within the cells.
