My eciggarete tastes of burnt and its a new coil can someone help

To prime a disposable coil you drop liquid on the exposed wick holes or coil (this depends on the clearomizer) and give it a minute or two to soak in. You can repeat until you feel the liquid has made its way throughout the wick and coil. Usually no more than one or a few times.

After you fill the tank with the primed coil you should also let it sit for a few more minutes to ensure the liquid is getting to the wick and coil. Go ahead and give it a draw without power, that's called a primer and pulls liquid to the coil. Be careful not to flood it.

5 volts may also be too much voltage on a 1.8ohm clearomizer. You might have better luck around 4 volts.

IMO, 5v on a prostank head is way too high, that's 13.8ish w.

Use watt mode & start around 7w, slowly increase power & take a vape or three on each setting until you find what you like. If you get a burnt taste turn it down.

You prime new / unused heads to prevent burning, after they're burnt the taste won't go away.
Most times the burnt taste will leach into the remaining liquid in the tank & transfer the burnt taste to the new head.
Best to dump the juice & thoroughly rinse all parts that come into contact with the liquid, then replace the head.

Basically im running my istick 30w on 5v but and its a new coil but cant get my head over why it tastes burnt and no real flavour can any one help ?i have kanger protank 3 1.8 ohm

5 volts is high for protank type stock coils.
Your volts should be closer to 3.7 volts.

I agree about proper priming of the coil head.

When breaking in a "new coil", always start with a low voltage/wattage power level, and then gradually work your way up to its sweet spot.

A general rule to follow with coil resistance vs voltage power setting:

Take the resistance of the coil (ie 2.0 ohm) and add the number "two". 2 + "2" = 4 volts.​

If you have the new single coil bvc vocc coils for the protank they can go up to 12 watts easily, that's assuming they are primed. The older dual coil protank heads I would say maximum 10.5 watts.

Yes, but 5 volts with a 1.8 ohm head is almost 14 watts, which is high for either
