So, I've got 2 good mods, an old but serviceable Kangertech sub-ohm tank and a new mtl Zenith, and a good supply of lovely tasting premium liquids...

So why is it that sometimes (read - quite regularly) I just want to break out the 3 year old eGo style vape-pens and go nuts with some cheap single-flavoured juice?

Is it because the higher level stuff is in my mind like owning a pipe or having a cigar, but because I used to smoke rollies I'm accustomed to not liking the finer things in life I wonder!

Anyone else find themselves ignoring the high-end kits they own in favour of their older, cheaper and in some ways nastier gear?

Not me, I like my high end dl sub ohm kits. Seems like innovation is moving in leaps and bounds and I like it.

Don't get me wrong, I love all my little vape toys equally but tonight I'm drawn to this - it even looks battered and tired bless it...

Simply nostalgia? Remembering the first vape that finally got you off of cigarettes? Good times. Happy times. Proud times.

I used to LOVE my Provari's for years, but my style of vaping changed to a DTL, sub-ohm, higher wattage style.

I never actually used an eGo battery setup; I skipped that phase. I went from about a month's use of a cigalike starter kit and moved on up to a mechanical mod and cartotank setup, and shortly thereafter to my first Provari.

Yeah, I was actually on a cigalike set up for about 3 years before I got my first refillable tank - so it's probably nostalgia from the pleasant transition from 'gets the job done' smoking cessation stage to 'wow this can actually be really enjoyable too!' stage. Definitely don't miss them, although they obviously did their job!

Not I, said the Scott. Actually I doubt my old eGo's would even still hold a charge. Once I got my DNA75C based mod and switched to TC, I haven't even considered anything else.

I pif'd most of my older gear that worked well. I did order a Toptank for nostalgia sake a few weeks ago but would not go back to my original devices; I did love and appreciate them at that point in my journey. Fond remembrance is about as far as I go.

I still get my 2013 JoyeTech 510 double starter kit, some extra batteries, and a few Vision Nano clearos out at times. When I want a super stealthy little set-up for a short time out, they're great. Amazingly, the little 320mAh batteries still take and hold a charge! I use some late 2014-early 2015 eGo 1100mAh batts and Innnokin 16D clearos, too, every now and then. The new ones and the used ones still charge and work well. I like to use them while pasture mowing, or out deep-sea fishing...stuff like that. If a set-up gets run over, or dropped overboard...no big loss. I'd rather lose 1 of them than my newer, more expensive mods and tanks.

Just last week I cleaned out my Vaporesso drizzle(started off with it), put a new coil in, and loaded it with Hangsen RY3 (with a tad of pre mixed TA). Really enjoying it to. Bringing back some good old memories.
Yeah to me, newer, isn't neccesary better...its more the experience and the satisfaction that counts...!

I smoked rollies too - started vaping with an innokin vape pen. Soon upped to an eleaf pico 75w.

Once I found the doggystyle RTA and realised I could 'tinker' with it AND it vapes fantastic I'm in heaven.

Tried other mods, but I keep coming back to the simple pico 75w mod.

"Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, roughness, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes."

    Wabi-sabi - Wikipedia

    Pico 75w & doggystyle RTA is my wabi-sabi ;)

Although my oldest mod is my Aspire nx75 i still love to bring it out from time to time as it makes for cute setups imo hehe
Crikey! The NX75 is almost state of the art for me. The drizzle? I've got two and they're great. One of the upsides to low power vaping is that older gear nails it. Currently using a K1 on an NX75 and an istick with a mini Nautilus. Happy chappy. I look at new [2018] stuff and think 'hmmm, yeah... Maybe.'. One exception is pods - they're a bit of harmless fun.

Oh yeah i especially love the update where they changed the whole menu system, Tc imo works great aswell (tried With .35 0hm SS dual, on drop rda).

It may be more recent but i think it looks adorable with most rdas i've got :p

    Nope, not an eGo anyways.

But... The mod I'm vaping right now is more than 3 years old and I like it just fine. :D
