My empty outbox

When I send a PM my outbox remains empty. At first, I thought I was prohibited from sending PMs due to an absolutely bogus and unjustified infraction I received. But, that has elapsed, and some of the PMs I thought had been sent to ether-land have been responded to. So, they were sent and received, yet my outbox remains empty.

Also, is there a mechanism to contest infractions, and how long will that thing stay on my profile?

User CP > Edit options > Private messaging. There is a box you need to check that says "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"
