My experience so far. V4L/AVE/Questions, round one.

So, it's been almost three weeks since my last cigarette, aside from a couple of drags I took from a friends smoke, which was terrible. About two weeks since I got my first MOD, and I have to say, it already feels natural, like I've been doing this forever. I have very little if any, desire to go back to analogs. My first MOD, which I'm currently using is the OMG all day from vapor4life. I have been really pleased with the equipment so far, aside from dumping an entire tank immediately. The vapor production is nice, and the battery truly lasts me all day. What I'm not quite pleased with are the juices I've been trying. The first one was WOW 555, 36mg, which I didn't realize is a very high content. The others came from the WOW true tobacco sampler pack, at 24 mg, much less harsh to be sure. I mixed WOW Flue cured tobacco with some Boba's Bounty given to me by a friend, and found an excellent vape. My next purchase was a full sized bottle of Flue Cured, and VG WOW Wowboy, supposedly a tobacco flavor with hints of mint and chocolate. What I have found is that all of the vpaor4life juices that I have tried have a strange undertone. It's hard to describe, I was calling it citrusy/sweet, and kind of spicy, not quite an adequate description. I've also noticed that after long periods of vaping, I'm not tasting it as much/ The VG doesn't have as much of this flavor, but it's stiill detectable. After doing some research I think this may be the taste of nicotine itself, or maybe something in the base tobacco flavor. I haven't tried any of their premium or nobacco usa blends yet, but I'm not sure if I should give those a chance, or just look for a new supplier. I really liked the Boba's and also Massive chocolate mint, both from Alien Visions, and both also 24mg. The trouble is that I have the OMG with the 808 thread, and dual coil tanks, and I'd like to be able to get replacement carts at the same place where I order my juice. Maybe I should just order some different tanks? Any suggestions on suppliers, tanks, or juice?

There's a variety of vaping attachments that you could put on your mod. Since your battery connector is an 808 threading, you would need to get one of these adaptors to use a 510 threaded attachment from other vendors. 808D to 510 Adapter | Vapor4Life

Here's a link to the more common devices you could try on your OMG and the adaptor:

Those are all a little different in size and how they work, some people prefer one over another, it's mostly personal preference.

Your tanks look like the common Smoktech tanks. They should accept any 45mm XL size cartomizer should you decide to buy carto's from elsewhere. I personally prefer the single coil cartomizers with lazer-drilled holes from Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL The pre-drilled holes give me consistancy that punching my own didn't allow me; the single coils use less battery drain than the dual coils, and provide the same flavor and vapor production.

I use the ce3s to test new flavors in. They are reusable. Smokeless Image sells two varieties, and they use the 808 threading your OMG does. Their Nano doesn't require a needle/syringe to fill/remove juice. Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

According to the v4L accessory page, the 808-to-510 adaptor you'd want is this one: adapter-808d-510.jpg
The most common thread in all of vaping is the 510 thread, the majority of equipment available utilizes that threading. Be aware that using the above adaptor between your battery and attachment will cause the attachment to stick up the length of the adaptor. This might not be noticable with some attachments, but if you change to a 510 threaded cartomizer for your tanks, there will be an empty space between your mod and tanks because of the adaptor.

If you are happy with the v4L cartos, continue. They are expensive though at $3 each. The Smokteks that I linked to are only $2 each.

Smokeless Image sells 808 threaded attachments. If you wish to try clearomizers, ce3s, or their cartomizers (you'd have to punch your own holes if you planned to use them in your tanks) you wouldn't need the above adaptor. http://smokelessimage.com/filter-tips/clearonano.html

Altsmoke is an excellent vendor that sells 510 and 808 threaded devices. http://altsmoke.com/

I'm reluctant to recommend a juice vendor to you because taste in juice flavors is incredibly subjective. What I like you may not like. What I would do is save money at first by only buying sample packs or trial sizes from different vendors to get an idea of what you like. I have not found a single vendor that I liked all of the juices that I sampled. I have found vendors that I liked 3-4 flavors that was worth buying again in a larger size. Like I said, I test flavors in the little ce3s, because you can dump a flavor you don't like, rinse it, and refill with another flavor.

Virgin Vapors, Dark City Vapors, and VapeRite are juice vendors that offer cheaper sample packs, and I have 3-4 favorites from each one of those vendors that I order from regularly.

Thanks once again, for very helpful info and links. Problem solved until I upgrade to a better APV. On the Juice, I'll definitely give those a look. I know what you mean about taste being subjective, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a picky vaper. The lack of sample variety is one of the biggest issues I have with v4l. It seems like everyone would just do that, but I'm not totally surprised. Thanks again!
