well just received my kr808d1 from rob at vaporkings today. 1st timer using a cartomizer. i pick up a 5 pk of 555 16mg also. so far, the throat hit is good. one question... WHERE IS THE vape???? there is little resistance or pull on the draw, and im literally not blowing out vapor. its like im inhaling harsh oxygen. hit it slow, hit it fast, nothing. im very disappointed and will be exchanging it for a Joye 510 on monday. maybe im just not a carto kinda guy... :(

If you are using an automatic battery, you will notice some holes in the sides. You will also notice notches on the cart. Line up the hole with the notch, and you will notice the draw really improve.

Second, don't smoke it like a cigarette. Take a long, slow drag. You'll know when it hits you.

Also, in regards to vapor, the longer you hold it in, the less vapor comes out.

Give that a try, and hope it works out for you.

:)

My experience and recommendation is about 180 degrees out from Born's. Lining up the holes with the slots in my situation made the draw easier.. which allowed more air to flow.. which created even less vapor. On the other hand.. blocking the slots helped a bit.

On my cartomizers the trick has always been to primer puff them a few times to get them up to temperature. Then take the long draw. Unlike a 3-piece design, the coil on the KR808D-1 is surrounded by filler and liquid... and that sucks the heat away from the coil (especially on a full carto).... reducing the vapor production. Allowing the coil to pre-heat with the primer puffs (and/or holding the button on a manual battery) works better for me.

Its an automatic. i lined up the holes on the sides.. nothing.. i blocked the slots .. nothing. and yes i take slow draggs (even counted to 7) and absolutely no vape to exhale. i didnt hold the hit nothing fancy, it wont work. picture the amount of vapor you exhale about 5 drags after you know its time to change a cart, yeah thats my brand new KR...

You'll be happy with the 510. JUST REMEMBER: blow out the primer fluid from the atty before you start using it. Otherwise it's gonna taste like fried ....

And yeah, I don't think the cartos were designed with vapor production in mind; my 510 puts it to shame. The flavor and throat hit on the cartos are GREAT, though.

They can take a little bit before they take off good on some of them.

YouTube - Cartoimizers with the 510 battery

This video kind of shows how some of them start off like how your talking. Also make sure your battery is charged up all the way when you start one.

It takes a little bit before you really get used to how to vape with a cartomizer, but when you do you will be hooked.

Also to say that you can't get vapor with them is insane.

This is with a cartomizer.

charged or that paticular atty is shotie.

Hey Matt, I looked into the cart-o-mizer after seeing how much its fan club liked the thing. It seemed even the biggest supporters of it said they had some bad carts. I think that would be expected considering how cheap the have to make them to be disposable and sell at a buck a piece. Also from what I read/viewed the brand name ones were better. I'd screw on another one and give it a try.

Randpost - ummm bud you might want to get rid of that video. Thats a 10 second drag on the thing, I can't do that for the life of me after 20 years of smoking, but with a 40X or 801 I could pull off 2 drag/puffs in that time with double that vapor each time...

Also have you tried to talk to Rob about it yet at vaporkings?

He is really quick to make his customers happy, and if you sent him a PM/or Email I bet he would be right on top of the issue you have been having.

YouTube - How-to guide to refilling KR808D-1 or Vapor King cartomizers

YouTube - Refilling the kr808d cartomizer also known as the vapor king

I just wash them out, and then let them dry out for a while. That's if I wanted to change flavors. Yet, most of the time I just add a new flavor over the old one. Unless it's menthol, because that is a really hard flavor to over take.

Also there is no primer taste with the KR808. Primer is just E-Liquid that they put in new atomizers to keep them primed over long periods.

if you want vapor my friend, the 808 is not the top pick. BUTTTT i can tell you what to do to fix it.

buy a small bottle of the same flavor juice as the carts, but make sure its VG. before you use a cart, drip a couple drops of the vg juice in and let it soak..

now your 808 will produce vapor like a 510 or mod , but will have much more flavor.( what the 808 is known for !)

edit: this is after you make sure your gear is right, as previously stated in thread

For those of you with Kr808s, should i swap mine out with another one from rob at VK? Or should i trade it in for a 510 starter kit. I really like the luxury of a 2 piece for when im on the go, but my vapor production (after days of on and off using it) still sucks noodles. The hit i get from my m401 0mg juice is 10 fold compared to my KR with 16mg. That being said, do the KRs simply not produces as much vapor or is mine just broke?
