My first 2 mods

Well, I've been vaping for about 6 days now and I have made 2 mods. I started with the standard 510 bats and the short life was just not going to work for me. So...

I made this 14500 mod box with a 2xAA box, 510 connector, 2 14500's, and a charger from madvapes and a switch from radio shack. The 2 charged batteries last through the entire workday and part of the evening. Whereas I was swapping the 510 bats about every hour.

Then, I realized I'd like to try a 5v, so I made a passthrough. Grabbed an old USB cable from the computer shop i work at, hacked it up, put it together with a switch and project box from radio shack and voila...

The passthrough is totally awesome, and being a computer tech, I can vape all day long without a battery.

I know these are simple mods, but this newbie is pretty proud at only 6 days in and wanted to share.

pretty good start for a newbie.
Making it all day at work was an issue for me also (retired now). 5 port 510 chargers and a sack of little 510 batteries.
They did get me off cigarettes though.
Sounds like you've made it too.

If you put another 510 connector on the bottom of the 14500 box you could use an eGo charger and vape and charge at the same time from a USB port. The charger will only draw charge current from the port.
Don't try it with your left over 510 chargers though. They can't handle it.

Great start with your mods Frosty, If you like the 14500 bat you will love the 18650.

+1 on 18650 batts! Kallies Kustoms 3100mah batts work magic in my dual 18650 mod! It went 4 days of constant use before needing a recharge!

Thanks everyone. Sounds like my next mod will be based on the 18650... 4 days of constant vaping without a charge sounds awesome. Also, i think I am going to make a car adapter passthrough out of a retractable usb to keep in my truck all the time. I'll be able to grab, vape, and release the cable back into place.

Sounds good, I use a passthrough while driving and they are great.
