Well there are no 5V Li batts (they are all 3V and 3.7V), so you have a few options...
1) You can use a big 3.7V (like an 18650) and a step-up DC converter.
2) you can use two 3V in series to get 6V, then use a 5V regulator to step it down.
3) I haven't seen anyone doing this, but you may be able to use a zener diode to clip the voltage to 5V.
4) (worst option) you can put a resistor, is series with your atty. Problems with this...It would have to be the correct resistance for any given atty to work out to 5V across the atty...lots of wasted heat energy with a resistor.

There may be other ways:?:

If you haven't tried the hit off a 3.7V 18650 yet, you should try it before you commit to 5V. That battery hits soooo much better than a stock 3.7V batt, that it is plenty for most. And it will last 2-3 days; no 5V setup is going to last 2-3 days.

Just my .02
