Hi guys, I finally made my first mod box.. Nothing to gloat about it just wanna share that although it tedious work. But at the end of the day. You will appreciate it a lot!

My regulator used is the OKR-T/3-W12-C from RS. Adjustable by a 500 ohms poti which I salvaged from my workplace. The switch is just a generic one which I too kapo from work :p

The 510 connector is also a salvaged one from my old 510 manual batt. And finally the voltmeter is from DX.

Its my first time cutting boxes so bear with me with the ugly finish. And also I don't have much real estate after getting all the parts together hence the 'forest' looking wires.

I think you did a great job ! It works !!!

Get creative with your next one...look around to see what looks interesting to you to make into a PV !

Idea...nice looking trinket boxes ?
Deluxe Wooden Inlay Secret Boxes

Ya it works! now I have to be careful with the unprotected batteries as I wasn't if protected ones will allow high current output.
If I ever gonna create a new one I might be adding on a voltage supervisory chip. But then again I have to consider space needed.

I'm slowly gathering ideas. might even add in a digital poti. which is gonna be close to breaktru's mods.. but of cause credits to him.

Mmmm wood... I might just make a wooden box of my own if I can get hold of some wood scraps. Lets hope my neighbors throws away wooden furniture that I can salvage..

eh.. basically my idea is that ur batt side is one half, the other half is the wirings etc, then close the 2 half together. = more handy~ (then box one looks very pretty~)

yup I understand what you meant.. perhaps I can make a new one which is slightly thicker so that i can house the wires and components underneath the batteries. I feel that my current one is a little too wide. Doesn't really look comfortable when I put it into my pockets.

Nice job! Feels good when you make something that works, doesnt it? And if it doesnt work, u learn anyway from troubleshooting so its always a win!

You can save a lot of space by using a pcb that's set up kind of like a breadboard, then cutting it to size. As opposed to having spaghetti :) just a suggestion: next time maybe use some wire shrink wraps at your connections or just glob some hot glue over it. Better sorry than safe is what I always say, kill two stones with one bird ya kno? Or something like that :vapor:

You are right! I feel darn good about it.
I understand what you mean about using those DIY PCB boards. Thing is I got too anxious.. haha after I got my hands on majority of the parts I didnt think much and just begun soldering. Perhaps when I do my next mod I will plan more.

Just a side note. I do know that in SG its difficult to get part for example ready made PV batts. I believe rather then asking around which batts are the best. Why not make your own mods instead. I believe there's tons of modders ready to help every part of the way. Treat it as a rite of passage or a jedi needs to make his or her own lightsaber. Once you made your first. You will cherish what you have.

Back then when I first started out I wasn't really satisfied with what batteries I have. Hence I began researching sure its tedious but I've finally made one. I feel more accomplished.

Ok enough said. Please don't flame me. It's just what I feel.

@deception

well done , bro
finally u completed yr box mod, it suppose to complete during christmas holiday rite?

yr green push button is the right choice. Im using this type too..;)

ya lo.. haha in the end my first batt box broke cause I accidentally drilled too hard and too fast.. :p

then also got held back due to PT school work and end of year closing for work too.. zzz

then I got lazy.. kept staring at the components with no box.. so before cny I went to sls to get a box again and stared longer during the busy cny..

but suddenly one night my fingers and heart got itchy.. and went for it.. completed within the night and thats what you see.. haha..

oh ya one more thing you can see how badly the lines are cause I didnt have any files to use.. and guess what i used.. the file attached to the nail clippers we use.. hahahaa
