Hey folks,

I have been interested in cartos for awhile now and decided to try one out. I did some research (mainly combing through different threads on this forum) and I decided to go with an IBTanked solution with smoketech 2ohm 2-hole cartos.

I also picked up an MVP2

What a difference from the MT3s I've been using for a long time now!

I find that the flavor comes through more, a bit cooler too.

OLD SETUP
Ego Twist
Kanger MT3s
2.5ohm stock coil
Vaped at 4.2V which would equal to 7.056W

NEW SETUP
MVP2
IBTANKED
2.0ohm Smoketech 2-hole
Started at 9.5W which equals to 4.3589V

Over the last few days I found a couple things that I can't figure out....

1) I am eating through way more juice than the clearomizer (MT3s) I was using. Is this normal?

2) I can't get the same throat hit as I did with my clearomizer (MT3s). As you can see on my setup above, even at 9.5W I still can not get the same throat hit, its almost non existant. I am using the same juice in both. If i crank the MVP2 to 11W, the highest setting, I start get a bit of hit.

If im not painting a good picture let me know..

Thanks!

I actually prefer the lack of throat hit from a cartotank. Cartotanks provide more flavor and vapor than a clearomizer.

Throat hit by and large is determined by the juice (primarily the concentration of nicotine and to a lesser degree a higher percentage of Pg in the liquid). You may need to increase both for more throat hit.

I would suggest using voltage mode as opposed to power (wattage) mode and use higher voltages for a warmer vape, which you may experience as more throat hit.

Some people prefer a low resistance single coil or low resistance dual coil cartomizer for more hit.
