My first full rebuild on Atlantis coil

Is the new coil slightly bigger than the stock?
Could be the surface area is vaporizing more juice at once, just at a slower pace.

Ok so I just watched a video that said that the stock coil has a diameter of 3.94mm That is significantly larger in diameter than the 2.4mm that I built.

Now then, the only thing I'm not sure of is if they are similar in length or not. Once I find that out, I will let you know

Edit. The video im watching says the stock coil is 10-12mm in length. Mine im pretty sure is much shorter than that.

I laughed so hard to this... I just got my Atlantis like two weeks ago so I am new to it as it was my first experience but yeah... I am the same way.

Like having both in or both out after putting the rubber back in vs one in and one out?? Will the coil just not fire, or it could cause damage to the battery etc?

Hey Rondo -- I responded to your PM about this, but because I would *highly* encourage anyone with these to consider rebuilding until they switch to cotton:

You'd basically be causing a short -- on a regulated device you'd just get a NON connection and have to fix your flaw. A short basically tells the battery to dump everything it can as fast as it can, which isn't a good thing. On a mech mod or something it could be dangerous, but you'd have been smart enough to check it with an ohm-meter first so just have to fix it.

Rebuilding a coil isn't really that difficult if you follow the general coil-building stuff you see on here or a video, have a deep respect for the power of the battery but you don't need to be afraid of building coils. It's one of those things where the basics are simple but perfection is always the next build away.

@Bjorhyn, One thing to remember though. The stock coil uses NR-R-NR wire and has even spacing. My coil all wraps are with R wire, and are tight and touching

What in the world kind of voltage is the stock coil running at 11 watts?

According to ohms law a stock .5 ohm coil at 11w the voltage is 2.3v

Is it an actual 11 watt hit though? or is what ever chip he has regulating it to a higher wattage? I would hate to think how long it would take a coil to warm up at that resistance lol

ive rebuilt 2 coils so far. im using a large diamter rod.. around 3mm, but most likely bigger by a little. I use 6 wraps that are loose of 24g kanthal. i think wick it with Japanese cotton. so these have worked out great for me. I currently run about 42-43 watts and have zero issues. Ohms out to .65 on 6 wraps and .54 on 5 wraps
