Hey all. My Riva 510 kit came in the mail today. I'm ready to get started! Couple quick questions before I get started

I have a battery charging right now. The instruction booklet says to let it charge 8 hrs, then use for 20 min, then charge for another hour, then it is ready to go. Is that standard operating procedure? Should I follow those instructions exactly, or is it ok to start vaping earlier?

I've read that atomizers will die after a period of time. Will they just basically stop working when they are dead or broken or whatever?

Thanks all. I'm sure I will have more questions once I actually get started

It isn't going to hurt your battery to chrage it for 8 hours. But most if not nearly All e-Cig batteries can be used once the charger is done charging.

BTW - Be sure to rinse out your atty in hot water and then dry and prime it before it's first use.

I think they're old instructions. They're shipped with a partial charge and you should be able to vape with them.

I don't use atomizers often except to test juice, but yes, that's what happens with an atty.

I've never charged/vaped/charged after 20 minutes. One charge and go for it.

Attys will certainly die. How quickly depends on how much you vape, how often you clean it, what you clean it with, and what liquid you're using. Generally you'll find that over time the flavour, TH and vapor will begin to diminish -- this will happen anyway as you vape and is generally an indication that you need to clean it. But you'll find that over time, after cleaning, it won't quite return to what it was before. There are ways to maintain atomizers as well as you can, such as cleaning with distilled water and/or pure grain alcohol or vodka, rinsing, and dry-burning to burn off the juice buildup. But eventually they'll just never return to their former glory. This is partly buildup and partly the wick just burning up or not being thoroughly cleaned. Expect to get a few months out of one with good and regular maintenance. Cleaning once a week or so is recommended. Attys may also just pop much like a light bulb burning out.
